Have one of the 99051s. It's alright. I wouldn't really say it's worth the money unless you're cloning though. The protective bits do inspire a bit of confidence because the sight tower itself is small as fuck. It's thin enough front to back that you don't need a tool to manipulate the front sight pin, just something to depress the plunger so you can turn it. I want to say the pin itself is a bit thinner than the A2 but I don't want to go dig it out of the safe.

I mean, I paid around $1000 for it since I had to order it directly from PTR which I don't really consider a huge amount for a good gun. It satisfies my lust for both a roller delayed gun and a battle rifle. I'd say it was well worth it to me but your milage may vary depending on what you want. If it helps, you can get them $150 or so cheaper from Atlantic if you're ok with the top rail or willing to wait till they start selling the models without the rail.

The elevation was off from the factory but setting it to the 400m setting zeroed it in closer. I got an HK sight tool so I'm going to zero it in better next time I go to the range. I'm reasonably satisfied with the rough groups I was getting so far though.

In a line infantry unit the dumb shits have the machine gun. The retard strong guys who have to actively think about breathing stupid. One of two things happen to these specific optics one they are taken off and kept in an arms room because they suck( you think acogs have shit eye relief, think again) or This optic goes on said machine gun, they are bounced around, and well abused. (The optic has a rubber cover designed around it.) Think about how heavily used this optic is and then tell me if it's worth the money.
Pro tip it isn't. Nor is it worth the risk of being in possession of stolen government property for what is genuinely considered a shitty optic.
At the end of the day it's your money, spend it how you want.

I feel ya, but even then Elcan is not one of those brands you want to spend the money on. My recommendation of you are really wanting to get a magnified optic in the 400 range is a variable from vortex(like I'm sure you e heard before) or save a little bit of extra cash and keep searching EBay or Ar15.com or Mcarbine.net equipment exchanges for a used Ta01 they are damn good optics. When you find a good deal on there always search for the area it's coming from. If it's right outside of a military base I would use caution just on the chance that it's stolen.
