I bought a Nikon EER for like $200 and couldn't be happier. Got some nice rings and a solid mount and it's golden like pony boy. Good bang for your buck if you're feeling to upgrade a bit from the Primary Arms. It's only a 2.5x though, idk what kind of shooting you do as far as yardage goes.

Just copped this girl couple days ago, century L1A1 with the imbel receiver cut for metric mags (had a couple laying around from my STG58 so I not even mad)
Will shoot when I buy some .308,
Only complaint is the inch lower has worse ergos than metric, mag release is awkward and the bolt hold open is impossible to release when bolt is locked back. Gonna pick up a para lower and put the inch sights on it. Or chop my current one and convert it

It's a T48 FAL dust cover, the FAL's that went into trial against the M14 to replace the Garand... The idea with an open top dust cover is so that you can reload using stripper clips if you are all out of fresh mags...

The AR10 is less plug and play than an AR15. The non standardized specs doesn't allow for literally every shooter to be on T&E duty.
If you don't want an issue, buy a prebuilt rifle from a good manufacturer. Warranties are nice, increased resale value is a thing if times get tough. If your going to build, don't cheap out and piecemeal the thing, get a good receiver set from a good mfg, think mega arms, not aero.
A build will cost you ~$1500 if you didn't cheap out on anything. A decent prebuilt will generally start north of that.
Don't forget optics.

No, she's proper fucked now. 99% sure the trunion cracked on it. It has a de-milled Milsurp G3 trunion that had a barrel pressed, removed and a new one pressed in again, I removed and re-pressed the barrel pin myself (100% sure that is what did it if the trunion is fucked).
The extended trunion you see here is essentially a plug they slid down the barrel and welded to the receiver and welded on, it doesn't actually DO anything.
Either I'm going to try to salvage the receiver and replace the trunion with a proper PSG1/MSG90 one I have, or I'm going to buy one of those pre-folded flats from PTR and have a gunsmith unfuckulate it.

Honestly I would suggest you save the money and get what you want, but browsing gun shows you can get pretty good deals.

You could also buy match grade parts piece by piece and have it assembled. That's something I've been doing with my scout squad. At the end of the day you'll have a great rifle. If you don't have much money though I'd suggest buying a cheap bolt action .308, then investing in a good scope for your ideal rifle and practicing with that. Getting accurate as a shooter is more important than your rifle. Buy cheap, get a Leopold and practice, then when your match semi auto rifle is finished after a few months of purchasing parts you'll be ready for it.
