I had an IO and the stock started getting pushed out of the back of the receiver because the rear trunions were bending from shooting it. Came out about a half an inch before I sent it in to get fixed. They repaired it for free I just had to pay shipping and they sent me a brand new rifle. I sold it during Sandy vagina and bought a rifle dynamics 701. It was an okay gun but there are better ones for the money

You can get a Vepr or an N-Pap for $1,000. Both of them whip ass on a WASR.

Just buy a nice parts kit, a new receiver, a chromed barrel (if you can't find a parts kit with one included), and have someone build it for you.
That's what I did with mine, zero regrets. Might do that with an AK74, depending on the availability of 5.45 in the next couple years/who the next president ends up being.

If you are buying new I'd look at DDI or WASR if you want a more cold war era AK If russian is a big deal I would recommend a converted Vepr 7.62x39 but if you like tactical rifles I would recommend you look at Arsenals line.
