If we're going with the most impractical weapon in this situation that's easily available, my go to choice would be the pool noodle. It's easily available in my department and with my knowledge of the store layout I could probably build a nice trap out of lawn chairs and horse shoe sets. I'd lure the shooter into the trap with the pool noodle then laugh as he gets comically hit in the head with a cast iron set of 'superior' brand horseshoes.
If we're talking my actual plan, see if I can get behind the gun counter with some shotgun shells and pray I'm quick enough to at least look like I'm not about to get immediately shot to fuck.

Oh, as for strategy. If I have the .22, just hide somewhere, take aim, and put one in the base of his head. If that doesn't work, put another one in his head. If that doesn't work, go for the head.
Tbh, the thing is so accurate and easy to shoot that the only concern I'd have is whether or not the round can kill him, and all memes aside, copper jacketed .22 should be able to do the trick if you hit a sweet spot.
Assuming that fails, wait for a break in firing, or for him to stumble from his peashooter wounds , then charge with the trench knife so that it can once again see the glory of hot bloodshed.

Most impractical thing I've got is a .177. It won't do major damage at range with how worn out it is, and due to pumping, it's pretty much single-shot. Kinda flimsy, too. Ridiculously quiet, though.
I'll just take my chances - fire a round at something near him to distract him from hiding, and either affix duct-tape bayonet or flank the shooter and beat them down with the stock, as it'll splinter upon the first few swings and give me a bit of a bladed end to work with.
