Small house, so Im thinking about a shotgun, budget is $5,000
>>
>budget is $5000
Used .50BMG rifle and a can of ammunition. Seriously you can get a shotgun and a bunch of ammo for a tenth of that.
>>
>>30420360
Benelli Nova
>>
AR-15 is best. Good ammo means you won't have missed rounds hitting your neighbors' homes, unlike buckshot or pistol rounds. Low recoil, lots of ammo, powerful at stopping threats, easy to add light/sling and a red dot to.
>>
>>30420360
SPAS-12 with that budget

This nigga serious?
Grab a 200$ Mossberg 500 / Maverick 88.
Use the rest on ammo, accessories, and OTHER GUNS.
>>
>>30420360
Use turkey shot to keep from shooting through walls (mostly).
>>
>>30420399
00 buckshot already has problems penetrating walls, and with single-0 or #4 buck you are even safer, while still being able to effectively take down a man.
>>
>has 5Gs of budget
>too poor to google
Fuckin benelli M4 and 10 cases of buck you poor richfag

An ar15 and spend the rest of the money on shit on your home like lights, motion sensor activated lights, a security system, cameras and an analysis from the police on possible break-in routes to your home.

Or better yet, spend that money and move the fuck out of the place if it's a bad neighborhood.
>budget is """"$5,000"""
>>
Kel tec ksg or utas uts-15 with aquila shells that let you practically double the capacity. This will give you enough firepower to stop the attackers and/or make them flee or at least pin them down long enough for the police to arrive.
>>
I have an AR Pistol for home defense

This is completely untrue.
>>
Mossberg 500, if you meant $500. If you meant $5000, buy whatever the fuck you want.
>>
>>30420376
Too accurate. Some people need a gun that doesn't require aiming. Aiming is a skill that requires a lot of training to transition from "thought" to "reflex". In a home intruder situation, the average Joe has no time to think. A shotgun will allow them to get a shot off sooner.
>>
>>30420360
Your budget will allow you to arm practically every occupant in your house.

For around $350-500, you can get a Mossberg 590A1, which has an all aluminum and steel construction (save for the handguard and stock), and is designed for police and military use. It's simple to take apart and put back together, and thanks to the pump action, it can cycle practically any round you want in it. There's also the option of installing an optic on the top by attaching a rail to the top above the ejection port.

You can use the rest of the money to buy like 5 more and start your own militia or something. Or just buy cans upon cans of ammunition. I'd advise standard 00 buckshot, whether or not you want to go for low recoil ammunition is up to you, but just know that your stopping power will suffer (maybe not significantly, I assure you whatever you're pointing at will die if it isn't armored, anyways).

Hope this helped!

>$5,000

Probably can afford to park this in your entryway.
>>
>>30420730
So, you don't even aim shotguns, you just pull the trigger and the shot just magically homes in on the intruder. Fascinating!

Orrrrrr in reality, practicing and being proficient with a firearm is not only a good idea, but should damn well be a responsibility for any owner of a firearm intended for self defense. Just maybe.
>>
>>30420730
This isn't a video came Larry, shotguns don't spread as much as you think they do.
>>
>>30420793
>So, you don't even aim shotguns, you just pull the trigger and the shot just magically homes in on the intruder. Fascinating!
When compared to a single .22 bullet, pretty much. A novice can shoot moving clay pigeons out of the sky within an hour of picking up a shotgun for the first time. Minute of nigger at home defense ranges is pretty automatic.
>>
>>30420360
get a fuckin mossberg and shells for 1/10 that budget, damn.
load with buckshot
>>
>>30420730
At closer ranges, a shotgun functions more like a rifle firing a large bullet that gradually increases in size.

While shot *does* spread as distance increases, it doesn't spread to the point of not needing to aim at 10 yards.
>>
>>30420730

You do know that in home defense ranges a shotguns spread is only going to be roughly as big as a quarter right? You still need to aim.
>>
Bullpup 5.56 carbine with a lightweight silencer, aimpoint, and decent light.

Consider the AUG, Tavor, X95, RDB, or the MDR when it releases.
>>
>>30420404
Never in my life have I seen something as wrong as this. Gun grabbers calling an AR15 an assault rifle is more factually correct than what you just said.
>>
9mm or .380 handgun of your choice.

Shotguns and ARs are too cumbersome in my opinion. You want to keep that gun in your nightstand so it's out of sight but easily accessible.

I suggest a used Glock, put a flashlight on it so you can use it to investigate scary sounds in the dark.
>>
>>30420730
jesus christ
>>
>>30420805
Sure, clay pigeons in the sky, which are nowhere near the 5-10 foot distance a home invasion takes place at. Do yourself a great big favor and shoot something with a shotgun from 3-8 feet away. Note how small the spread is, and maybe a light will go on.
>>
>>30420805
A shotguns spread in a situation the length of a room will be at most 3-5 inches. That is not minute of nigger.
>>
>>30420793
Aiming with a shotgun like you would with a rifle actually screws with you target acquisition. It's better to just learn how to point the gun at the target and let the spread take care of the details.
>>
>>30420360
A $5,000 budget and you're looking at double barrelled shotguns? Shit dude, for $5k you could get a pistol with a mounted light and bedside holster, a semiautomatic shotgun and some ammo for it, an AR platform with a flashlight and ammo and still probably have enough to get a light with a motion sensor for the back door.

You're thinking way too expensive with your shotgun man. Home defense guns aren't ornate or heavily customized. They're not overly expensive. Think about it this way: do you think a knight or a centurion or a samurai defended his home from robbers or marauding hordes with a gold adorned, jewel encrusted sword with a polished and stained mahogany handle? Not even the king would waste the cash for a gaudy ass thing like that. But buying a dagger (pistol) sword (shotgun) and lance (rifle), that may not be as fancy but hold an edge just as well.

MAC-11 SBR with lage upper and suppressor

To get the equivalent margin of error out a non-shotgun, you'd need a 3"-5" gun. Field/naval artillery is hell on masonry.

>>

>>
>>30421845
Yes, with some bullshit paperwork and an NFA stamp.
>>
>>30420383
I support this man's claim.
>>
>>30421845
Don't see why it shouldn't be. AR15 is legal. Shotgun is legal.
>>
>>30420360
Get a reliable pump action.

Get a short barrel

Get barrel threaded

Get a suppressor like a salvo

Get something to hold extra shell on the side

Now you have a HD gun with overkill levels of terminal ballistics and won't perforate both eardrums if you fire in a narrow hallway.

I wish you all best. (unless this is bait, then please disregard)
