In the campaign she's basically a PLA spook (gook spook uhuehuehue) so having her in full combat gear wouln't make sense. Also a chick so she's not gonna be able to hump as much gear as a marine from tombstone squad and still maintain the same degree of combat effectiveness.
As for her actual rig it's not bad. Armor vest + light chest rig is not uncommon for pmcs or the like. Fuckin dump pouch on the thigh and xboxhueg medical bag are both retarded as fuck.

Your plates should be covering basically everything in the red, that is the shit that will generally kill you before you have a chance to reach medical treatment.
Blue are your side plates, which should be worn high as shit, because again that's where your real vital shit.
Everything in the green while generally necessary to live, won't kill you immediately. You can be gut shot and still have a fair amount of time to get actual medical treatment.

What happens is that soldiers either decide to, or are made to wear kneepads by their commanders. The kneepads are hot and uncomfortable, especially when running around.
Some soldiers will slip both guards down onto their boots to get them out of the way and stop the discomfort. Some will slip down one and continue to wear the kneepad on the leg they most often actually take a knee on. Do this on combat and patrol, then when coming back to base where the commander is you slip the kneepads back up and wear them properly while he's around.

Yeah, none of them are authentic to their real SOF, but at least it was believable. They also used appropriate weapons for each force. Too bad EA dropped supoort for it, it had a lot better customization than BF4, being able to change stock, barrel length, even magazine. Also, not everyone ran around with a reflex sight, game had elcan's, acog with rmr, aimpoint. Good weapon models, good weapon skins, etc.
Really hope Dice and Dice LA come together and make a good mix between MoH and BF, largers map(compared to MoH's map pool), complete customization, authentic weapons, authentic SOF's, etc.
