I got a new rifle-length upper and it's short stroking like a madman. Right now I'm feeding it really cheap lightweight ammo, but as soon as I can find some I'm going to try putting some hotter shit through it to see how it runs.
That being said I would really like to be able to continue putting cheap ammo in my rifle. I don't think 55gr .223 is overgassing the gun, so does anyone anywhere sell a lighter weight carbine buffer? Or some lighter weights I can swap into my existing buffer?

Need some advice on turning a heavy as fuck build into a light weight "fun" build.
Currently have a heavy as fuck full length free floated quad rail and a MOE stock. Gun is extremely accurate from bench with a decent 3-9 scope, but overly front heavy and honestly just isn't fun to shoot.

Looking at adding a MFT minimalist stock and a 12" MI G3 lightweight rail like pic related.
Is the rail gtg? I've heard mixed things about the way MI rails mount and wanted some extra opinions. Want to make sure there isn't any movement. I plan on running mbus pro back up sights on it without an optic for the time being.

I would also recommend doing the trigger hole when you're about 3/4 of the way down with the main pocket, that way you don't slip and fuck up your nice clean finish trying to cut out your trigger hole. that's what happened to me.

With a red dot sight:
You don't have to align 3 objects to shoot, only 2.
It's a much more intuitive sighting system than irons for everyone. This makes it WAY better for shooting under high stress, new shooters, moving targets.
They're way better in low light than irons
Your eye doesn't have to be aligned like with irons. This is a big help if you're in weird positions, or if you're wearing a helmet etc.
It's basically like having a laser pointer put into your vision that nobody else can see.

OPs Core and Crye have always been in the lead with Helmet tech. Ops Core is nice if you can find one, but Contingency Procurment Group, Hard head veterans , and Armacore all make similar helmets. The thing is they use the standard Kevlar layering process as a normal ACH does and don't have the Space Wizard Magic that Crye or Ops Core does so the helmets are thicker for the same level of protection. Have this exact rail (but keymod) on a 16" AR and it works great, no movement at all and it's very comfortable to hold and light as hell.
Do note that it absorbs heat like a bitch so you might want to get some hefty rail covers or gloves. I have the BCM Keymod rail covers and they don't do shit after I've gone through 90 rounds in 10 minutes.
