You help join a resistance. You cache a few special weapons and ammo, and if they ever come knocking you hand over a couple of your extra guns that you held onto and were unable to sell during the preban panic purchases. If you refuse you get summoned in a courtroom where you can't really expect to brandish your gun and not go to jail.
They can track your serial numbers, made you make most of your purchases thru dealers so they'll subpoena their records or threaten their livelihood with legislation and more restrictions..
It's a slow death. By recursion if you allowed the first domino to fall, then the rest will.
Doing this attrition stuff does not benefit you in the long term.
