I have a C&C permit. Mostly got it just as a 5-year p2p (yay Minnesota...), but a couple weeks ago there was a rowdy party down the road from my senpai's place that turned into a pretty serious shooting. Cops also believed some people bugged out and may have been hiding in nearby buildings. This has kind of changed my mind.
Starting to think I would atleast like to have my handgun in my truck somewhere, maybe under the steering column, just in case the need arises. It's a little too big for me to wear and hide on a daily basis.
Seems like having a ready-to-go holster setup would work, and when I'm at work or inna store, have a small hidden safe to lock it in.

I have been in this situation and was lucky to have my revolver between my seat and middle console. It was about 11 at night in Elko, Nevada at a red light on the intersection of Silver St and 5th St. A car pulled up behind me and the passenger got out and came banging on my window trying to break it to get in. Once, I was a delivery man. I knew a great guy that worked there, one of THE NICEST people I've ever met. Incredibly devout, incredibly hard-working, real stand-up guy. One day, about a year before I worked there, he was coming out of an apartment complex after a delivery in his SUV. Two upstanding youfs decided to come up to his car and hold him up; I believe his windows were open, he usually kept them open, didn't think his AC worked too great.
They put a gun in his face, he started speeding off, and their shit hood aim ended up saving him, or maybe it was the surprise. The one with the gun fired. Went through the other side of the car, and it was close enough he got powder burns all over his face.
Called the cops, they came. He gave them a description, then went to the hospital. Full recovery, not real bad scarring, but some days I could swear I could see it if I looked real close.
They caught the dipshits not even an hour later. Immediately after, they decided to go directly across the street and try and rob a Wal-Mart. Didn't go well.
He didn't deliver to the hood after that, and aside from one guy who implied he was racist for it, we were all just fine with that.
