general RPR thread

So, I came across a ruger precision rifle at my LGS, and its going for $1,199, and i want this fucking thing, since i havent been able to find one anywhere else. They sold out of .308 rifles, but had .243 and 6.5 creedmoar RPRs.

I just wanted 6.5 creedmoar anyway, but my question for you guys is $1,199 a good price for one of these? new of course.

got mine in 6.5

Price is decent, i got mine for a bit less, but if you can afford it get it.

Make sure you have money for scope though....
>>
>>30390826
It's 200 less than MSRP, go for it
>>
1199 is good for a 6.5 RPR
>>
>>30390862
how much did you get it for exactly?

also, what scopes do you recommend for the 6.5 creedmoar? i have a .308 scope but im not sure if its good with 6.5.

If burris isn't your thing, vortex makes good long range optics as well.

What kind of scope and/or reticle is that? Also, does it correspond to a specific caliber? Or could I DOPE it to whatever caliber I put said scope on?

Is that the Burris?

That is the scope and all its info.

Its first focal plane reticle meaning you don't have to re adjust every time you change magnification.

what are those complaints on the one star reviews on the scope? not focusing past 150 yards?

did you have any issues with the scope?
>>
>>30391235
Thanks /k/omrade.
>>
>>30391318
Not him, but I am guessing that they don't know how to use the parallax adjustments. Just my thoughts on it
>>
>>30391085
>>30391093
Man how do you do that? I was trying earlier to do that with my scope but I couldnt do it alone while holding the rifle steady with one hand and the camera in the other.
>>
>>30391349
>>30391318
yea its tends to be fuds no understanding what they have or how to use it.

Also those pics are of a ball tower thing a bit over a mile away(1.12 miles). I like to aim at the maintence guys when they walk up the stairs on it.

bipod helps, i'm using camera phone btw
>>
>>30391437
Yeah I was using my bipod too and my camera on my phone. Does it just take time and a steady hand to find the right position? Also I assume patience.
>>
>>30391413
can 6.5 even go that far?

also what do you think of the rifle for hunting? even in 6.5? because i might use it for that too.
>>
>>30391456
I used the feature where you hold the button and it takes pictures until you release. one was bound to be good.

Oh damn, that means that I would have a problem with it as the minimum size of photos my phone takes is 7mb.
>>

The "effective" range caps out at about 1600 yards or .9 miles
