I decided to purchase a MN 91/30 yesterday.
Out the door it was $265.XX after all taxes et al.
It has a few minor scratches but otherwise the furniture is in good-great condition. All the numbers match, even on the included bayonet. It has a round receiver and is in good, working, firing order.
Did I overpay?
I paid $350 the other day for a 91/30 hex receiver in good condition with ammo pouch, bayonet, sling and an oil canister. All matching serials as well.
I think you did pretty good, all things considered.

Mine also included the ammo pouch w/ canteen and ~90% de-cosmoline'd
I just wanted to make sure because I had some friends tell me it wasn't worth the cash.

Yep. I payed about $360 for this at a gun show a few weeks ago.
I was actually looking for a barber shoppe, and on google maps it was a barber shoppe, but when I pulled up it happened to have a gun shop in the back and they happened to have what I was looking for.
The car dealership across the street was also a gun shoppe too but it was closed that day.

I paid 120 dollars for mine years ago, how has it gone up so much?

A few years back the import laws changed or something and the prices went up as the supply went down.
I was looking for a mn 91/30 recently
>driving around on my day off
>about 5 towns over
>see a little gun shop I hadn't before
>decide to check it out
>typical stuff
>shot guns, ruggers, handguns behind a case, aks
>spot the beauty
>mn 91/30, tag selling for about $280
>comes with bayonet, clip pouches, sling
so from what I've seen recently you didn't do half bad
>looking it over
>checking zeroing on sights
>see the cosmoline build up as I push the sights up
>disgusting.png
>try out bolt a few times
>try to put the safety on
>cosmoline makes it impossible to get a firm grip
>old store owner sneaks up behind me
>see's me, early 20 something seaming just tugging at some part of a rifle
>"What the hell are you doing?!"
>get caught off guard
>start stuttering
>"I-i was just putting the s-saft-"
>"WHAT?"
>"I was putting the safety on s-sir"
>looks me dead in the eye for 20 uninterrupted seconds
>"...hmm"
>he goes back behind his counter and picks up his newspaper
>"... I-it's just mosin's have notoriously hard safeties"
>"hmm"
>felt so unwelcomed I just left
10/10 would recommend

>paid $270 for a nice Finn M39 in February
>>30368587
$250 is about market average. Along with matching #'s and bayo, you did good.
>>30368587
