14 inches of sand or two feet of concrete wall. Basically two feet of a good solid "cover" surface. Rolled homogenous steel armor would also work.

Four or five LVL 4 ceramic plates.
1 ceramic plate stops 1 x 30.06 AP dumping max 3000-4000 lbs
1 x 50 BMG dumps 10000-15000
Assuming full soft armour and trauma four ceramic plates and 5 to be sure. Possibly less.
The spall would be crazy though and there would be broken bones aplenty but you might live.

So to stop a 50 = 5 x Lvl 4 plates and trauma layers and doubled soft armour to maybe stop one round and live (possibly) depending on range, available medical assistance and shot placement..
4-6 inches of level four ceramic plate lets say another 1/2 to one inch of trauma layers and 60 Kevlar layers.
