Why aren't we using this as an area denial weapon?

Why aren't we using this as an area denial weapon?
>>
>>30355269

Because it kills even robots that get close to it and is pretty much impossible to clean up?

Also what is the exclusion zone and implying its not already denying a huge area.
>>
>>30355269
>weighs hundreds of tons
>would probably cost a shit ton to make
>lingering contamination
just drop some land mines
>>
>>30355269
it is a denial weapon. The govt that caused it denies they had anything to do with it
>>
>>30355269
>hundreds of tons of radioactive shit

Besides, that stuff only produces a 1/10 the radiation it once did, so you'll likely not die if you stand next to it for like a second or two.
>>
>>30355299
>Because it kills even robots that get close to it

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, Anon.
>>
>>30355352
OP's photo was right after the accident.
This one was taken later after much of the radiation had dissipated.
>>
>>30355269
>Area denial weapons
>No realistic way to decontaminate area

Yeah let's fill the earth with super radioactive lava flows in WW3 and then when we win we can just go live on mars because the earth is a lethal nuclear toilet.
>>
>>30355322
kek

>>30355352

Radiation protection tech here. Time, distance, shielding. It would only be an effective area denial weapon over a small area. The further you are from it, the less dose you take. Put some shielding up(like the corner they hid behind) and you take less dose. Besides that, it's extremely heavy, and has a high likelihood of giving everyone involved with it dose.

Basically, the guys storing/loading/deploying it would have more ill effects than any enemy you tried to use it against.
>>
>>30355368

Then surely you can provide me with a citation detailing exactly when both photos were taken, and what the comparable radiation levels were.

Also, I'd like some proof that the gay facebook-tier clickbait story in the OP's image is true.

You seem pretty confident about this so obviously you should be able to give me what I'm looking for.
>>
>>30355368
>>30355396

The picture is still incorrect though. And I doubt looking at it would instantly kill anyone, I don't think anyone died instantly from radiation anywhere at Chernobyl apart from the blast of the initial explosion.

The half lifes of those materials lasts hundreds to thousands of years, it will still be incredibly radioactive, but this picture is all about impressing 12 year olds and retards on the internet.

Looks like I was right, you can't do it.

Not same guy and I can't be bothered to track down picture dates for you, but here is more info

>>
>>30355434
>And I doubt looking at it would instantly kill anyone
In the sense that you'd get an instant lethal dose, yes it technically turns you into a walking dead.
>>
>>30355413
>you seem pretty confident
Do I?
You seem pretty fucking dick-filled.
You want a link to absolutely prove something? You won't find it fuckface.
>>
>>30355444

An imgur link with unsourced claims is not a citation.
>>
>>30355446
Nope 300 seconds to get a lethal dose.

http://imgur.com/gallery/AKSZt
>>
>>30355449

Wow, I'm totally convinced.

Don't you have some dogs to jerk off or something? Why are you filling up my board with autistic garbage like this?
>>
>>30355446
>instant lethal dose
I rephrase that, lethal dose was in 300 seconds at the highest recorded level, apparently.

I doubt it'll be an instantaneous death but you're probably at deaths door by the time you're out of the nuclear complex.

classic autism
how does it feel to fill up the spectrum?
>>
>>30355455

You're not impressing anyone with a link that is literally the second result on Google.

Better article

>>30355452
Then do your own research, there are no ends of details about Chernobyl on wikipedia.
>>
>>30355464
>continues to avoid providing a source for his claims

Do you think I'm too stupid to notice what you're doing?
>>
>>30355470
This is an anonymous board.
I was providing anecdotal evidence.
If you don't know what that is then I can't help you.
>>30355468
That link is not a citation because I deem it so.
>>
>>30355468
>Better article

No? There isn't a single source for the claims made in that article either.

Do you not understand what a source is? You're just copy and pasting links from the first page of Google results for "elephant's foot".

Jesus christ, kid.

>Then do your own research

No, faggot. You made a claim, you back it up. What are we, in third grade recess? I'm not going to just automatically believe anything you say, especially when your ONLY tactic is to copy/paste google shit and call me autistic. Fuck's sake, you are a special child.
>>
>>30355462

Watch some of the documentaries on Chernobyl. After the accident a team of scientists made multiple trips inside to track the nuclear material down, they found the elephants foot. They mostly died of cancer but it was years later.
>>
>>30355481
>I was providing anecdotal evidence.

Oh, so you were at Chernobyl?

Give me a fucking break. You are well and truly retarded.
>>
>>30355491
The planet would be a ruin if people weren't willing to provide counter-evidence to evidence-less arguments.
Are you 12, or can you really not find anything out on your own?
Need a hand to hold till your foots in the grave?
>>
>>30355502
>still doesn't understand what anecdotal evidence is
if i was there it would be an eye-witness account, get your terminology correct bruv
>>
>>30355493
The first responders probably had a worse time though, with the radioactive dust and steam in the air killing their skin cells and such.
>>
>>30355491
>>30355466

I'm not a fucking nuclear scientist and I don't have access to the radiation level readings they took or know where to find them. I linked something that challenges the ridiculous claim in OP's pic. I doubt they are far from the truth.

Yes I used google, I'm not going to waste my time tracking down materials to prove something I have a passing interest in to random people on 4chan.

Congratulations, now get out of here!

There were helicopter pilots that flew over the reactor dumping lead into the inferno.

Most of them were dead within a month as I understand it.
>>
>>30355844
>lead
They dropped sandbags.
The "radiation lava" is actually a silicon glass.
>>
>>30355446
>>30355455

Chernobyl's elephants foot isn't instantly deadly , but it is possible for a radiation source so immense that it knocks people unconscious and puts them into a coma

the picture is incorrect about it being a medusa. With proper blindfolds you could fuck a mythological medusa with no ill effects. This thing kills by proximity - it'd kill a blind man just the same as anyone else.

Nope this is from an incident way earlier. Can't remember the name but the just of it is that the dude was refining nuclear material by pouring a bucket of junk into a vat of the junk and he get the amount wrong or something and it went critical momentarily or something Idk.

The Soviets exposed dissidents to x-rays in the past. They would be arrested arbitrarily, and have an x-ray machine pumping into them from the room next door for a few weeks before release.

The fact that that is no longer done shows how efficient it is.

He's blind, might as well make use of it.

Naw you wouldn't, already workers have taken pictures of it. You can only be near it for a matter of seconds though it's still pretty radioactive.

they did drop lead too

Because it continues to be a weapon after it leaves your hands, and could just as easily be used against you. hotheads would break off little bits using explosives and make dirty bombs with it. Sure they'd die of cancer, allah wills it.
