The first step is finding someone who has and wants to sell a transferable full auto AK. That is the most difficult part, as there are not a whole lot on the market as the machine gun registry was closed in '86. Obviously you don't pay anything to find someone selling something.
Next step is ponying up the cash for it. Expect to pay around 30k.
Finally, you submit an atf form 4 and $200 to the BATFE which will transfer the item and tax stamp into your possession. The process takes about half a year and fluctuates with the market.
