Why do people hoard .22?
22lbs of varget, 2k 210m, 1300 assorted leads (mainly 178gr bthp from hornady) 2k 205m, 500 75gr bthp from hornady, 500 55gr nosler varmegeddon (tipped and none), and an assorted other .224 dia projectiles.
Its gotta last me 4 years, probably wont.
Also got a little bit of stuff for the 243 deer rifle but thats like 2 lbs of h4350 and a few hundred leads

I think I keep a 'base' of about 2K of every type I shoot and rotate my stock. I shoot pretty regularly.
So, I have 2K or more each of m855, generic 223, 22lr, 9mm fmj, 9mm hollowpoints, 30-06, 30 cal for my M1 carbine, 9mm mak fmj, 9mm mak hollow points...and a couple of hundred shotgun shells.
Ammo is cheap, if you shoot a lot you should have a lot.

I really diversified my calibers this year and it was a bad idea. I used to buy 7.62x39 and .45 pretty much exclusively, but then I finished my AR build. Built another. Wanted a Klobb. Wanted a hand cannon. Wanted a 9mm SBR.... Yikes. Wish I'd have spend half that money on crates of yugo surplus 7.62x39 when lax had free shipping. Stacks on stacks of ammo is so sexy.
