Record holding griz wasn't shot with a 22, you are talking about a 2300lb California grizzly. That was killed with an INSANELY lucky eye shot (grizzly eye sockets don't go straight back into the skull, there is alot of bone protrusions).
The world record was a 2500lb kodiac.

Kill yourself, a man with a knife has a goddamn good chance against a bear that has been shot 1-5 times with a rifle. Especially if you shoot it more with a pistol or shotgun as it charges.
There was a fucking 80 year old that took out some big griz because he kept stabbing the bear as it bit his face off.
