Whats /k/'s goto innawoods gun? Pistol, rifle, shottie? I'm debating on saving up for something to replace my nugget. Good gun, but I know there are better alternatives out there.
>>

I normally take a revolver.

>Whats /k/'s goto innawoods gun?

Kalashnikov. If I need to explain why, then I'm in the wrong place.
>>
Right now, my Marlin 1894 because it's my only long gun. My future woods gun will be a shotgun.

Purpose of an ar15 is that the other guy that bugged out in the next county that you ran into in the woodline will have one.
And you can both use those 7 full magazines you pulled off that poor soldier who's parachute got tangled in the tree.
There will be supply lines with boxes of 5.56 ammo, not boxes of rifles.
If you are in a group of people and everyone is using a different caliber, someone is going to run out.
If you are familiar with an ar, then when I die in a firefight and your weapon jams, you can take mine and defend yourself without missing a beat.

>TFW have both Beretta 92, AK, and am building AR

I will be the master of all.
>>
Take all funs with me, mosin for big game, little badger for small game, cz p-09 has handgun, 1897 as shotgun, and sub 2k as backpack and fighting gun. Its all I got but it's got me ready for everything.
>>
>>30339454
>I normally take a revolver.

>tfw don't like Rugers or Smith & Wessons very much
>tfw Dan Wesson only makes their badass Model 715 in .357 and no option for .44 Magnum

I hope CZ pulls their head out of their ass and makes a .44 Mag version as I would buy one day one.
>>
a lever action would be the best, preferably a short carbine model in a full power rifle round
>easier to handle than 4 foot long nugget
>simple as shit
>powerful so it can kill whatever you need it to
>feel like john wayne
>they last forever, could give it to chilluns later in life
>higher capacity than nugget
there's no downside
>>
>>30342719
>there's no downside

There's no way to lock the lever which makes them annoying to take through thick brush or on your back as the lever can potentially catch on something and make your current round fall out. Not the biggest deal in the world but holy shit do I hate that.

Same problem with like 99% of bolt action rifles where the safe position doesn't lock the fucking bolt closed.
>>
>>30342755
there are a few lever actions which have safeties that either physically block the lever or do it through the mechanism, I'll see if I can find one as my memory isn't serving right now

savage 99 economy model in .308, 20 inch barrel. common hunting caliber in eastern/northern ontario, no magazine to lose, fuddy and unintimidating to the locals, not collectable enough to baby
>>
>>30342691
You know what else is available in .44 magnum?
Deagles.
>>
>>30342781
The safety on older savage 99s lock the lever. No clue about the newer tang safety. There's also no external hammer to get caught on stuff either!
>>
>>30339423
I like the mossberg predator. They use standard 223 Ar 15 Mags and they are scout rifles. I would get one with back up iron sights tho just in case the scope gives out.

A little light if some big critter like a bear tries to fuck with you though.

>>
>>30339423

What I own:
For hunting:
Gamo whisper fusion in .22 caliber pellets

For defense:
Hipoint 995 carbine
Hipoint c9 pistol

What I'd like to own

For hunting:
Gamo whisper G2 in .22

For defense:
Glock 21 with an extended clipazine
AR-10

>they're reliable

Nah inrangetv busted that myth

AR-15s are better in dust and sand and mud than AKs

My normal pistol/rifle combo is my AK and USP.

Once my PTR-91 arrives it will likely replace the AK for better foliage penetration and big animal stopping power.

Double barrel 12 gauge. Think about what its like actually being innawoods. If you don't eat you die. If you don't explore you don't find shit. If you don't gather good wood you're fucked. So as you are going around, gathering wood, collecting gems, checking your traps, your shotgun is always ready to fuck, one barrel with a slug for large game, one barrel with birdshot for flying type puppers, and your faggot sidearm for lil rabbits. If you see a bear just let loose with both barrels, into your own face.

Depends on what for.
Hunting large game - Remington bolt action/barrel 30-06 in marlin stock & .357 revolver.
If I was somewhere where big grizzlies were a possibility, I'd consider getting a .500 S&W.

If we're talking about end of days fantasy stuff, well that would depend on a lot of stuff, then, wouldn't it?

Depends on the mood.

But it's usually either my 12 gauge or my flintlock. sometimes i bring my SKS if i'm not hunting and only want a shooter to shoot things. i don't think I've ever brought my nugget innawoods though.
