How much operating did he ACTUALLY do? I can't imagine the Coast Guard does any super highspeed stuff. However I am completely willing to be wrong. Is his praise/hate truly warranted? Bumping with Coasty pics.

Coasties mostly look for drugs in the Gulf of Mexico and around Florida
>>30336628
What kinds of stuff do they do in the Middle East/Horn of Africa?
Ship raids looking for drugs and stuff. The general internet population has no idea if he's ever been shot at or shot at someone. Considering his line of work, it's possible. At least very probable that he worked with and learned from people who had.
Costa only became the poster boy of a new generation because he was more intense and abrupt than Haley, and had an operator beard. The Magpul videos were a gateway for the general internet gun community to get a glimpse into what was already going on for years before, but they came out at the time where the youtube gun stuff was getting big. They had a more professional format, and stepped away from the previous generation of gun instruction and tactics by adding in new techniques and practices.
Again, the specifics he was teaching weren't groundbreaking to the rest of the instructors at the time, but it was basically babbies first tactical experience for a lot of people.
>>30336730
Interesting. Do you think most of what he teaches he learned from his time in the Coast Guard? Or had learned it by studying with other tactical shooting instructors afterwords? I wonder why he is so closed mouth about his experiences, whereas you hear guys like Haley and many others openly talking about and sharing their experiences int he service.

>I can't imagine the Coast Guard does any super highspeed stuff.
>what is DOG
>>30336429
I just want an oil painting of this...
>>30336761
Coast guard and civillian instructors. A lot of your high-speed guys visit some of the same places we do, either as elements of their unit or when they get the chance. We know he contracted with various groups for consulting and training after the CG, so it couldn't have been much after the fact.
>>30336811
Deployable operations group. I still cant imagine they do anything more highspeed than SOF units in other branches.
>>30336861
I just wonder why he is so quiet about all of his experiences lol
>>30336761
He raided drug ships for most of his door kicking career. Haley spent his time in Africa and the middle easy in force recon and as a contractor. Haley's job was inherently more dangerous. Plus he was involved in some pretty high profile stuff. So obviously he's going to be a bit more open mouthed about his shit when there are videos of him actually shooting people from a rooftop on the internet.
>>30336865
Not more high speed, but where do you draw the line? There's a lot of non-SOF guys with plenty to teach simply because of where their careers took them.
>>30336874
Could be OPSEC. Could be personal preference. He has shared some stuff and if you have the opportunity to train with him you'll catch anecdotes.
What matters is the training. Lots of SWAT guys and Task Force guys have never killed or come very close, but it doesn't mean there's naught to learn from a good 'ol brain picking.
One of my favorite stories of his is the time he was doing a joint operation down around the border and could have easily been ambushed by a camp of illegals because of how well-hidden they were.

>One of my favorite stories of his is the time he was doing a joint operation down around the border and could have easily been ambushed by a camp of illegals because of how well-hidden they were.
Please do elaborate.
I'm not american but I'm not going to lie, USCG gets it going for me since I was 15 or 16. Would definitely apply if I had be born in the uncle Sam land.
>>30336882
good point. you are right
>>30336877
raiding drugships definitely does seem pretty operator. Especially if they are those Columbian cartel semi-submersibles

Or you could join and become a citizen.
>>30336671
Counter-terror, boardings, etc.
The Navy is not permitted to board foreign ships. The Coast Guard is.
>>30337098
why isnt the navy but the coast guard is?
>>30337003
what about the USCG gets you particularly moist?
>>30337076
I don't live in the US either anon, I'm a eurofag.
>>30337199
You don't know much about how this works.
Only coast gaurd related thread for these. For what ever reason coast Guard ship formation and docking and all manner of stuff works to perfectly for these.

Probably seizing drugs or stopping people illegally enter the country
>>30337210
You're totally right I don't, but are you saying that a person can apply even being a foreign citizen?
>>30337334
Yes. Oh my god, we had this guy in basic from some island shitheap. Fucking Mercado.
>>30337358
I have a feeling that may not be that simple but I guess I'll search for more detailed info.
>>30337399
It's relatively simple, depending on where you're from
>>30337416
I tried a fast search but I'm on my phone and it sucks, only found stuff about the navy, and while you can apply as a non US citizen you must legally reside in the US already.
>>30337510
Yeah, I know. But look at it like this: it's never a terrible idea.
Think about it.
>>30336429
More than Yeager and Nutn combined, several times over.
>>30336865
>I still cant imagine they do anything more highspeed than SOF units in other branches.
take a fucking moment and think about what you just wrote. seriously.
>>30338081
Lol but neither of those spergs ever even operated.
>>30338192
took a fucking moment and thought about what I wrote seriously. Still dont see why you are having this reaction.
He looks funny as fuck wearing braces
>>30337098
False. Navy VBSS boards foreign a all the time.
>>30339051
lol wut. does he have braces now...
>>30339092
How does one join Navy VBSS? Are there guys who are rated as VBSS? Are there VBSS officers?
>>30339092
Yeah, but with embedded Coast Guard personnel.
>>30337334
>>30337358
I really want to move to America, so I just googled this. In peace time, you must have a green card already. The benefit you get from military service is you can get your citizenship after one year rather than five years.
In war time, you can apply for citizenship through armed service without a green card first (obviously much more desirable).
>source: http://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/us-immigration/how-get-citizenship-through-military-service.html
>>30341501
very few people actually qualify for entry by service because the hard part is actually serving in the first place.
there's mavni but lol good luck because it only lets 1500 people in a year and you have to either be a doctor or speak random languages
>>30340552
That's not a thing.
>>30339211
Yeah i saw him with braces in a youtube video a few months ago. I think it was around the time he was in a show Japan and did all the action moves on stage like a stuntman
