The forerunner to all modern tanks.

>>30331568
no
Panther, Pershing, Centurion and T-34-85 are closer
>>30331568
it was too fucking heavy to do shit. a byproduct of the thinking post 1942 when the german army got bogged down. the original precursor to the mbt was the panther tank and even it was too heavy with the additional slapped on armor.
Not really, modern tanks actually work from the factory
>>30331568
agree
Pic related was the first real MBT. Produced in 1945 to fight the big cats, still good into the 1970s. A pretty much perfect combo of speed, protection and firepower.

Wehraboo's wanking material, pretty useless as a tank
M4 Sherman was the original MBT. Fast, survivable, jack of all trades, even Tank2Tank with 76mm gun, doesn't break down all the time. All you want in an MBT.
>>30331647
this
>>30331568
Really?
The Panther/Centurion seem to fit the MBT role better.
>>30332251
Not even close. It was the definition of a medium tank.

A doujin in which one of the main girls from the Girls und Panzer gets raped. It's a part of a GuP doujin trilogy actually. It's a mix of fucked up. gore and homosex. Pretty gud read and fap.
>>30332339
>t-34/85
>Centurion
>Panther
>Pershing
All mediums, not MBTs.
Out of that entire list only upgraded Centurions and product-improved derivatives of Pershings(M60) actually survived long enough to become MBTs according to the doctrine.

German army kept working Nazi tanks after WWII? I thought that anything that wasn't put into museum was being destroyed.
>>30334292
this sounds... interesting
i hate to be that guy but pls link? you can even have this image of a sherman with a 122mm gun
>>30334367
Just go to any hetnai site and type GuP. You'll find it eventually since it's the one the most popular doujin with them.
>>30334317
How do you expect them to help fight as the Red Tide/Imperialists come crashing across the East-West German border if they don't have any tanks? Re-equip them for the sake of logistics ASAP, but until then a Panther is a whole lot better than harsh language alone.
>>30334367
The name of the author is Takotsuboya.
So prepare your dick for the loads of precum that'll inevitably come when reading this admirable piece of doujin.
>>30331601
>original precursor to the mbt was the panther tank
the fuck, it was not
panther was closer to ww2 american tank destroyer than it was to mbt
panther pretty much got everything opposite of what mbt got
>>30331647
>Pic related was the first real MBT. Produced in 1945 to fight the big cats, still good into the 1970s. A pretty much perfect combo of speed, protection and firepower.
This is what British actually believe.
The facts are quite different, the real main battle tanks were the tanks which progressively replaced the heavy tanks in the 1960s.
The Centurion was just what the British called an "Universal Tank" (arising from a merger between infantry tanks and cruiser tanks), it wasn't revolutionary. Its mobility was inferior to the US Patton-series tanks and its Soviet counterparts, in addition the latter being more armored and better armed.
>>30334588
>...its Soviet counterparts, in addition the latter being more armored and better armed.
debateable, the L7 was really good gun. easily better than the soviet 100mm. not sure about the smoothbore 115mm though

The Centurion were upgunned in 1959, two years prior to the mass-production of the T-62.....
>>30331978
I do not get groped by tank.
You see Ivan, you must grope tank first, then be inside tank.
You must know tank inside and out.
You must stay in tank for longest time.
>>30331664
Nah man that's fucked.
And I'm the guy who would kill a man for stealing a chocolate bar.
Is it fucked up I am willing to kill, but the slightest mention of rape, pedophilia, [insert sexual deviance here] throws me in utter disgust?
Am I a Khorne Berserker or something?
>>30334655
>the L7 was really good gun
>not sure about the smoothbore 115mm though
IIRC both had power far in excess of most battlefield needs. Continuous ammunition improvements helped.
How did the 20pdr do? Did it have any combat use? What is the most comparable Soviet gun and how does it compare?
I really don't know much about it.
>>30334788
>Is it fucked up I am willing to kill, but the slightest mention of rape, pedophilia, [insert sexual deviance here] throws me in utter disgust?
It means you have some kind of sexual deviance yourself, and you're not comfortable with it. It's almost as if you are arguing over it internally, with some parts wanting to fight back violently against the pervert and other parts being the pervert that half of you hates.
>willing to kill
There's two possible things here. One is that it's just a power fantasy. This is the most common, and probably what you are experiencing. Two is the actual certainty that you will employ deadly force if a situation meets criteria set out in your mind. This is rarer, and usually comes from training and/or combat experience.
>>30332341
Then those specific variants count as MBTs. If someone made a M1 Abrams variant that functions as an APC, would that disqualify the standard model from being MBTs?
>>30334317
I know a lot were scrapped but i cant say for sure if they were destroyed simply for being part of the third reich, France did have a few panthers in their arsenal after the war too, at least one in a french museum.
