I'm looking into the C308 or the c93 but I've heard really mixed reviews on the two. I've also held the two in person and the safety on the c308 literally fell out of the fucking gun.

Right but thats like saying all the good AK's get chopped up, imported, and built properly by Century when they do not.
Arsenal's entire business is doing what Century doesn't for AK's.
Steel is steel, you're not going to have a better rifle just because PTR made the receiver, trigger, and barrel, you're going to have a better rifle because PTR builds and quality controls their rifles like they care and that is going to come with a price.
Otherwise Daniel Defense and CMMG would be the same rifle company.
