Good luck, they're hard to find now. I couldn't believe it when I saw the price, especially since it included the top rail. It's a great gun though and I really hope FB Radom manages to get through the ATF's bullshit.

I would imagine anymore than say, $1100 is getting fucked, would you say? I see them pop up on akfiles now and then, but I'm hoping to stumble on onw locally one of these days.

I mean, I really like it and it's great quality but I probably wouldn't want to go much over Arsenal prices on it.

What kind of mags should I get for my Arsenal 107fr? Have 2 pmags (heard they're shit but they've worked fine for several hundred rounds so far) and 1 bakelite mag at the moment.

Not sure which of the steel mags are good, I've heard the quality varies by country.

Cool thanks. Do you know which of the polymer mags are good? I want to get more bakelite-looking mags (polymer but smooth, not waffle) in plum color or something but legit bakelite it quite expensive (my only tula mag was ~$30).

But I want it to be able to fit in my car as well, between my driver seat and center console, and in MI you cannot have a loaded long gun in your vehicle at all, period. But I did just find out that according to MI state law if the OAL is less than 30" inches it is technically a "MI Pistol" and can be used for CPL purposes.

>>
>>30307102
Gotcha.
They pop up randomly on the Files, as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure the guy selling that one also has an ad on the Files.
In my opinion, it's way overpriced.

Those were selling for $70 not 2 years ago until the horders that bought all of them stopped selling and jacking the price up.
There's plenty of guys that have several of them, putting them out 1 at a time to create an artificial lack of supply.

The Polish surplus magazines are great, but they're currently sold out on AIM surplus.

Bulgarian Waffles are supposedly some of the best, but they're 45 bucks a piece.

AK P-Mags do not have steel feed lips and have publicly stated that they've done it to save money on their product. This is unacceptable, and they do break easily because of it.

Any European surplus magazines will be good to go, but tolerances vary between them: some are looser or tighter by country of origin, based on my experience.

Yugoslavian AK magazines have a follower that will hold your bolt open on the first round. You might find this useful, but the bolt carrier will return to its original position once yu take the magazine out.

US Palm magazines seem all right, but they are made such that you can never take them apart and change the followers. If the magazine wears out or there is a catastrophic malfunction, you won't be able to use it anymore.

In conclusion, this is all you probably need to know about AK magazines. But you probably knew this already, anyway.

They are cheaper now, but also shitty options. Good AKs and ARs are both going to cost you, but you can get a great AK for a lower cost than a great AR still. And ammo is cheaper, as it always was. I'm always tempted to get an AR now that the prices are down, but I don't want to buy a shitty one. Then my ammo logistics comes up and I realize even if I spend 800$ on a decent AR, I'll still have to shell out money for a set of mags, a case of ammo, and some type of vest/rig to carry it all. Then I'm so far in the hole that buying yet another AK is the only reasonable option.

former no-guns here, only thing I've owned being an M44 mosin. Found a sporterized Norinco AK for 600 (and a Norinco SKS for 400) at the pawn shop today. Is Norinco any good? Without seeing it in person there's no way to know.
Why not just get a new GM M72 barrel?
Are surplus barrels that much cheaper?

If you buy a kit and barrel from Apex you can get a discount (I think that's still going on)

Got a question for those that have installed the ALG AKT into their rifles: how much play did you have in the trigger when you were adjusting the roll pin?

I was filing mine down and I got it so when the safety is engaged there is absolutely no play when I push the trigger forward from the back but if I pull on the trigger there about a millimeter or two of movement back and forth.
>>
>>30319424
Just a normal old Bulgarian triangle, normal new production stock on SLR-104FRs.
>>
>>30319459

Too bad the SLR 104FR-34 is basically discontinued until Arsenal gets more triangle stocks.
>>

I didn't want to take a gamble. Also the lack of mag dimples triggered my autism. The only thing I'm planning to change out will be the trigger and grip anyway. Not worried about the handguard and stock, I might switch out the lower handguard for one of the ironwooddesigns palmswell M70 handguard. I also ordered 2k rounds of golden tiger and I'm about to order some more mags, just because holy fuck the panic buying is already starting.
>>
>>30319556

>>
>>30319630

I've noticed that the guns themselves have started selling out but nowhere near the rate of magazines.

I don't know if that's because a ton of people already have the rifles from The Panic of 2013 and just need to supply their guns or because magazines are the cheapest they have been for a long time.
>>
>>30319636
Depends on how the congressional races go. Remember 1994 AWB had a degree of bipartisan support. Will the republicans appeal to center in wake of Trump, or go full obstructionism.

I don't think it's absolutely dire, but if there's another fun out there you want...

I had a WTB add up on the Files and someone had one he was willing to sell. Pictures show it in I'd say ~80% with the usual wear you'd expect from any surplus part, and it cost me $100 shipped which I'd consider fair. They pop up for sale every not as often as they used to on the Files and go for around $80-$100 but sell quickly, and one of the slavshit selling websites (I believe it was RussianSurplus) had them for $85 but they've been out of stock for months and months, so $100 for one with detailed pics in pretty good shape and that is actually available was something I was willing to do.
>>
>>30321419
>we all know Yugo doesnt have any Chromium reserves, hence why they didnt CL their mil rifle barrels

Ah this old myth. You can google the Balkans/Yugoslavia and see that chromium is a natural resource of that region.
They allegedly just didn't have the technology to properly chrome line them at the time, ie get a uniform thickness.

Go read a book, like "The Grim Reaper" and educate yourself instead of propagating bad info.

I have one anon, it's kind of ammo sensitive until you crank the gas to full. Other than that, runs great.

Has anyone given any thought to doing an SR2 clone? I'd even go for one in 9x19, and doing a cosmetic body based on a mac 11. It doesn't seem like it'd be that difficult.

Haha, my transparent mag on that pic. I have more if anyone is interested.

Not enough interest unless somebody did a one-off for their own self. The vast majority of self described gun enthusiasts would not even know what a Veresk is, unless it's been in some video game I don't know about.
