I have 2 propositions. We must set up operator set ups under 2 budgets. A 1000 and a 2000 dollar budget that each must include all the kit such as mags and ammo. The 2000 budget will be more feasible for mags and ammo. These kits must have one main semi auto rifle and if you have money left over a side arm. Make sure to use up to date pricing also. Go.

also use FATFINGERS google it, for finding misspelled postings that might not be properly listed for cheap shit sometimes.
and look for the closest millitary base to you, then find the local craigslist for it, and check sporting. sometimes you can find really cheap shit.
fug, forgot that if are looking for a cheap glock, classic has a bunch of glock 22 police trade ins for $300. there is a conversion kit to turn it into a G17 9mm.

Be more specific. What caliber do you want? You can find a semi auto rifle in most common calibers for cheap. But you get what you pay for, keep that in mind.

I should also add that because Big Boss wears a fuck-ton of different camos, you can get away with wearing pretty much anything from before 1984.
You can even wear obscure patterns because he does in game.
An easy choice would be some form of DPM, given that he wears that for his "Woodland"

odds are that the SKS is going to be the cheapest centerfire semi.

get the clear and the sunglasses kind. the ones they sell at home depot, and lowes are pretty decent, and a million times better than they were 15 years ago.
a poncho and liner, a good one, like the thinsulate ones.
a mora or two. and a multi-tool on your webbing in a molle pouch.
and find a good, comfortable hat. wide brimmed if possible. along with sunscreen, and bug spray. insectsheild gear works well.
