So, what's your "bedstand" gun setup?

Mine is:

12.5in barreled AR pistol with shockwave brace, T1, and TLR1-HL, 3 magazines loaded with 28 rounds of PDX1 apice

Glock 19 with a TLR2-G, 3x Glock 17 magazines loaded to 16 rounds (2x Speer Gold Dot, 1x Speer lawman).

I want one of those too.
>>
>>30302148

.32 under my mattress and an Enfield next to my bedroom door. I also have several knives and a hatchet if at all necessary.

I was a boy scout so I am definitely prepared.

Currently, basic bitch AR15 with dot. light, and can.
Hoping to upgrade to an RDB if they'd ever show up on the market.

Also keep a bastard sword handy in case I don't want to wake the neighbors.
>>
>>30302186
why under your mattress ? No bedstand? No mini fireplace?

WHY DONT YOU HAVE A MINI FIREPLACE ANON?
>>
>>30302148
Eh, a 16 in palmetto build with a magazine full of m193. I know I know "Muh $4/round self defense ammo! Muh SBR/suppressor/tactical flashlight build!", but honestly a workhorse budget build I'm not afraid of losing to the fuzz is perfect for me. Also before anyone shits themselves, I only keep the m193 in there when I don't have more expensive self defense rounds on hand.

>has to cover his shame by making fun of some other anon with no mini fireplaces.
>>
>>30302204
They've worked fine for me, and the absence of extra wires and external pressure switches is a plus for me from a robustness point of view.
>>
>>30302241
before the ucla guy stuff and orlando. Even defensive 223 was very cheap.

Dunno what your on about m8. Probably taking the piss because you have no mini fireplace.
>>
>>30302248
Why not get surefires then?
You claim to be particular of robust things.
>>
>>30302264
TLR1-HL has a superior beam and is every bit as robust.
>>
>>30302264
Surefires are nice, but I, like >>30302280 prefer the brighter hot spot of the TLR1-HL and am entirely confident streamlight's billet aluminium body is just as strong as surefire's billet aluminum body

>>
Fnp tatical with can and light.
>>
>>30302208

I just make a fire outside my window, which my bed is right next to.
>>
>>30302256
That too really, I'd rather have a micro-peen than anyone know my shame.

But in all seriousness, every time I get it I shoot it. And I try to keep a healthy stock of everything for all my funs, which leads me to bulk buying cheaper ammo more often than self defense ammunition in certain calibers.

>28 rounds

Oh, you're one of *those* guys, aren't you?
>>
>>30302754
A guy I used to work with said in Nam they'd only fill 28 (out of 30) rounds to preserve the mag's longevity

Is this a meme?
>>
>>30302929
Yes. There are only two legitimate reasons to download mags.
1) it makes them much easier to insert on a closed bolt
2) it puts less pressure on some polymer feedlips which can warp or crack over time

Magazine springs wear out from repeated compression and decompression, keeping them compressed within their designed compression range will not degrade them whatsoever.

The TLR-1 is actually durable as hell. I have one on my work rifle. It was launched out of my police car when I was rammed during a vehicle pursuit and my trunk popped open when I hit a barrier at about 60 mph (it was in a soft case). My Aimpoint T-2 Micro was damaged and inoperable, the muzzle device on my rifle was bent and caused baffle strikes. It landed on the side of the TLR-1 and that was the only thing on my rifle that still worked.

Hard to tell from the pic, but the comp was bent, BCM also fixed it for free
>>
>>30302964
tell that to the surefire 60 round quad stack mags that lost spring pressure after being loaded for 6 months and the betamags that had the same problem

As an Engineering student, this is what I was told as well, but unfortunately compression fatigue exists (as is made obvious by >>30303588) and is simply not accounted for by the model we were taught (which won't be a problem for most engineers because the vast majority of engineering application of springs relies on their use dynamically.) Unfortunately this is not the general case with their use in magazines as most magazines will spend their lives loaded and shot through relatively few times.)

Failure due to exhaustion fostered by compression and release certainly happens faster than fatigue purely due to compression and in most applications compression fatigue is not at all a concern... Magazines are a different matter, however and I intend to spend my time in grad school (materials science engineering) studying compression related failure of spring steel, inspired by the failure of the surefire 60 rounders.
>>
>>30303446
Yeah it's a mod 1, pinned and welded on a 14.5".

That's why I was such a pain in the ass and I couldn't fix it myself.

My nightstand has a Glock 21 with TLR-2, suppressor and a 16rd mag loaded with 45 ACP+P Ranger-T.

My wife has a Beretta 92FS with a TLR-4 and a Mec-Gar 20rd mag loaded with 9mm+p PDX-1.

The closet has an AR with a Trijicon TA31F/offset RMR with a Strion tac light on the foregrip rail. It has 2 linked pmags: primary with 77gr SMK, secondary with green tip. There's also a Saiga 7.62 with Ultimak rail, Trijicon RX30, Strion light and an SGM 30rd magazine loaded with Silver Bear JSPs. My chest rig, armor and helmet are next to these.

I live in a pleasant semi rural neighborhood largely populated by traditional families and the elderly.

>>30302301
Hell, yeah Streamlight TLRs rock.
