Greetings /k/,

Is it possible to replicate this firearm IRL, and if so, how would this most easily be accomplished?
>>
>>30300875
Yes, very easily. All you need is wood furniture for your AR. It's readily available, though rather expensive.

A few of the parts to be TOTALLY authentic are rarer. SP1 slabside upper receiver, for instance. However, getting very close is extremely easy. Buy a 20" AR-15 with 2 piece forearms and google "ar-15 walnut stocks". An A1 or A2 upper will also get you close.

No. Expect to spend $300 for walnut, or $140 for Boyd's laminate (pic related).

Get an AR, give it some wood, and find some upper that can feed it one of the many unobtanium rifle cartridges that can chamber it
>>
Anyone in this thread have any experience with Fulton ARs? I've got my eye on their M16A1 repro, but I'm not sure if the price is right ($1200). If the quality is there, I'll probably get one, but I haven't been able to find many reviews
>>
>>30300941

If you really want to go "authentic," you would also need a side charging upper reciever with the integrated carrying handle, since that's how it's animated in-game. Both in combination doesn't exist.

And good thing too. Wood furniture might have its fans and haters alike, but that kind of upper would make a lot of heads turn and cringe.

I'm about 70% through building a copy of the service rifle.

The rifle design itself is non-existent, the creators either didn't know what a real AR/M16 looks like or had to change things around due to copyright issues. The closest you can possibly get to the design in game is a A1 style lower, and an A2 upper, neither of which can be found for cheap if you want an accurate reproduction.

Also there's the issue of what to chamber it in. The Service Rifle is standard 5.56, however the Survivalists Rifle is in "12.7mm".

The only "12.7mm" rounds I know of are the russian "12.7×108mm" round and the "12.7×99mm NATO" round which is more commonly known as .50 BMG. While .50 BMG AR's do exist, that clearly is not what the rifle is.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77HMIQZAwB0
So if you want to make a copy of the Survivalist's Rifle, I would assume an AR-10, or possibly a Beowulf or .300 blackout build would be a bit more appropriate. Also

.50 Beowulf. It's a hell of a drug.

the original M-16 reproduction guys, they make most of the parts used in other companies retro builds. There's a high demand and their barely above a garage workshop tier company so there's a waiting list. And they also produce in batches, so you'll have to wait until the next one is done.

hey you anons with the wood furniture. Do they come with metal heat shields or do the laminate or wood itself not "singe" when you rapid fire ?

I'm'a go with "not really". About 150 rounds so far, 25 fired at about 1 every second or 2. Actually, that almost looks like fouling coming out from the gas port... Maybe that's why it's acting under gassed.

Is it really that hard to ask a carpenter to custom make some of these parts? I'm sure some brown color spraypaint would also be an easy way to make the lower a relatively close match to the wood for that "one piece stock" look.
>>
>>30303583
It takes a carpenter ten years, and one sacrificial goat to even get the gods permission to carve the very wood itself!
Do you know nothing of the customs of firearm furniture?!
>>
>>30300886
...why the fuck would the ATF give a shit about wooden furniture on an AR?

>>30300929
you're also gonna need an A1 style upper for the sight handle, a 20rnd stick mag, A2 style pistol grip in wood, and of course the rifle length barrel.
it doesn't seem to have a flash hider although it does have something on the threads, but just go with a birdcage flash hider.
unfortunately with this setup if you're 100% faithful I don't think you'll be able to run it in .50 Beowulf like in the game.
>>
>>30307157
If you wanted to be even more faithful, you'd need it to be a right-side charging upper, so an A1 would be out of the question. Just slap a carry handle on top and you're good
>>
>>30307157
no, you'd need an A2 upper because of the brass deflector. actually you'd need a receiver that has the upper and lower as one piece but that doesnt exist or at least would suck to build.

do they not make 20" beowulf barrels? even if they dont only the survivalist rifle uses that round anyways, or rather a round that i assume to be that as I said in >>30301615
