7.62×25mm Tokarev
>vs
10mm auto
>>
>>30296275
is the 10mm a factory watered down load?
>>
All I can tell you is that Tok ammo is the only thing to give me temporary tinnitus for hours. I shot my CZ-52 twice without earpro and my ears rang for the rest of the night. I haven't had that happen with any of the other cartridges I've shot without protection.
>>
>>30296286
That's actually an interesting question due to the fact both don't have that great defensive ammo choices the way .45 or 9mm have.

Shame too, both are super interesting and have gear potential but 10mm is stuck where it is because people are fine with soft point or hardcast lead and 7.62 Tok is stuck because there aren't many civilian guns chambered for it.

powerful in terms of what

FPS?
FT/lbs?
kick?
wound cavity?
barrier/armor penetration?

this isn't COD where one caliber does 5 damage points more than another, be more specific.

General impact power.
>>
bulgarian surplus tokarev ammo is 1500 feet per second of steel cored fun.

Which is going to largely ignore body armor up to IIIa

what this guy said, a lot of the tok ammo is loaded hot +p and is armor piercing, because why not.

>>30296501

general impact, we'll say they're not wearing body armor, 10mm wins.

That stuff won't work in my cz52. I always have to pull the trigger twice. I don't know if the primers are too hard or my firing pin is too soft/weak. I upgraded it to a Harrington with no success. PPU runs just fine though
>>
>>30296275
This is quality bait.
>>
>>30296689
my cz52 eats bulgarian just fine.

your hammer spring needs replacing.
>>
>>30296275
10mm by far if we're talking Underwood or other old fashioned kind of loadings that would make a Delta Elite cry.

Not that 7.62mm Tok isn't good for it's own purposes, good subgun round.
>>
>>30296697
>>30296689
Bulgarian surplus is loaded very hot IIRC, and the CZ52 isn't exactly the pinnacle of structural integrity, I wouldn't make it a habit of shooting that stuff in your gun.
>>
>>30296474
Everything I've seen seems to be reloaded .40 S&W bullets which tend to fall apart without reliable penetration.
>>
>>30296761
gun is fine, as long as you replace the rollers. the originals are too soft and can make the gun Kaboom, if they get out of round.
>>
>>30296761
>>30296787
I stopped shooting the surplus stuff after two trips to the range. I never take it out anymore anyways. I bought it cheap at a pawn shop and the firing pin wouldn't even protrude through the bolt face so I had to turn the slide onto a drill bit to clean up the firing pin channel so the pin would actually go in all the way.
>>
>>30296761
>>30296548
I was under the impression the Romanian surplus was the hot loaded shit for the ppsh and friends?
>>
>>30296875
As I recall this is true.
It also eventually will rattle your Tokerev apart though wether that's true or not is, in my opinion, doubtful.
I shoot it frequently, it's fun as fuck, cheap as dirt, and AP which feels real nice.

If I recall, I have 250 rounds of it in bags of 50. Just kinda hanging onto it. I need to double check the head stamps though for manufacturer.
>>
>>30296873
It's better suited for subguns, that's what the Bulgarians used it for.

So I guess look at one of those PPS43 pistols.
>>
>>30296391
Im sorry you're a pussy anon
>>
>>30296689
I had the same problem with my Tok, PPU runs like a dream but about 1/3 to 1/2 of the Bulgy needed double strikes, and about 1/8 to 1/10 were total duds
>>
>>30296275
man, I miss having a cz52, someone broke into my house while I was gone and stole it years ago...
>>
>>30298560
I got my bulgarian surplus and it was still in the sealed original cans and two cans of 800 rnds in the original wood crate.

slav military primers are hard. You need a 25 pound spring on your hammer.
