has there been any talk of the FBI adopting a new service pistol?
what exactly does the Sig p320 do better than a glock?
>>
>>30285879

Day "SIGSAUER" on the slide.

Any new, modern production striker fired pistol will work as a sidearm or holster candy. At this point it's all about haggling over price, and not just of the weapon, but spare parts, magazines, holster types.
>>
>>30285879
Inb4 beretta comes in offering 100 dollars less a pistol and all of /k/ flips shit
>>
I have the p320, it is really nice compared to Glock. Buying the carry size with a subcompact frame is is cheaper than buying two guns.
>>
>>30285879
It does being a good gun better.

You can change out the frames to help fit small and larger hands and the trigger is really good out of the box.

Additionally, you can go from a fullsize frame to a subcompact if you're out in the field and need to conceal it for whatever reason. The caliber changing is questionable in usefulness however.

Because of this, the 320 is an incredibly good handgun for agency use.

Easily and cheaply get reconfigured from a full sized service pistol to a compact and sub compact and back again whilst also meeting everything else Glock does or exceeding it.
I'm not a fan of SIG but you have to admit it's got stuff Glock can't even touch.

I personally wish they brought back 10mm auto but that'll never happen sadly.

This simplifies alot of things for a big agency, easier to get parts etc.

>>30286650
I'm just waiting for it to win the new army competition too.

Neither of these will never be done in practice, so it's a moot point.

At most the fullsize/subcompact is going to be a "fit the gun to the agent" one-and-done for women. They don't keep a bunch of spare firearms parts at the field offices dumbass.

So do you run around telling everyone your mommy and daddy work as FBI agents? Don't make me laugh. They're desk jockeys at best. This is assuming you're not bullshitting (lmao), there's no need to ride off your parent's career.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that two people think you're a dumbass. Which you are. Why don't you call daddy FBI agent to come and kick my a**? : )

Confirmed for not knowing shit about the Bureau. Agents ARE desk jockeys given a gun, you dolt. Most of what an agent does is write reports, interview people, and dig through trash, with the occasional warrant served and a rare session in court. You're the only one who thinks that it's some kind of glory career people would want to ride off of.
>much less that being an intel analyst is at all fun or that it would benefit from FBI family

Keep being butthurt about your Sig meme gun I guess.

If your parents were really FBI agents, you would know they already use sigs. No need to lie on the internet. It's already pathetic being a clueless noguns at this point.

The Bureau has been using Glock 20s (fullsize .40S&W) for a while now and are only now switching over to 9mm Glocks. Prior to that were Smith & Wesson 10mm single stacks. Prior to that were revolvers.

They'd be using Sigs if they were Secret Service or the guys guarding SCOTUS (talked to them and they all were carrying p226s). Most everyone else in the US government is using a Glock.

Responding even though I know you're just trolling at this point, because some people might not know better.

The 226, 229 and 239 have all seen FBI service over the years.
>>
>>30286691
While he is an idiot (that would never happen in the field)
The point is so you can have a single system with only one or two different kinds of magazines and one kind of gun that can be issued to everybody, and instead of buying new guns for when you need more compacts or more full sized handguns, you simply swap the frame and issue it to either a desk or field agent.
>>
>>30287022
can you get grandfathered in with sigs if you want. and what are the odds of the FBI actually switching to the sig, it seems like another bureaucratic song and acne and nothing will happen. Could you just keep the glock if you were issued one?

>239
the 229 and maybe the 229 but theyve never allowed the 239
>>
>>30287122
The 239 was OK'd once they transitioned to the .40, it's the only reason the 239 is even offered in that caliber. It's listed as an acceptable firearm for personal purchase, and I suspect offered for the female agents more than anything.

There are worse choices, though I think I'd rather strap a 229.
>>
>>30285879
Nothing really. It's literally a hammer fired gun converted to striker fire to compete for these kind of contracts. The frame and slide have plugs in them to work striker fired.

Biggest reasons the proposal was written for Sig to win is that Feds have always been wet for Sigs and Glock is currently under federal investigation for tax evasion.
>>
>>30285879
It looks better and thats good enough for me
>>
>>30287149
is there a list of approved guns you can purchase and use? Every time I look for one it says the use glock 22s and 23s and thats it
maybe 19s and 17s of you cant hit shit with .40
>>
p320 compact or glock 19, /k/?
>>
>>30285978
I just a full size 9000s and a polymer M12 from Beretta
>>
>>30289596
Gen 4 g19 has dat dual spring so pulling back the slide is easier

That's the only difference I am aware of and its pretty trivial if you're not a girl

Currently contemplating this same choice ... G19 is a good weapon but Sigs are sexy

>>
>>30290146
Well too the Sig is somewhat bulkier so it will be somewhat less convenient for EDC
>>
>>30290249
Unless you're a lardass you won't be carrying a glock 19 either. If that's what you're going for, compare the baby glock and the sig subcompact not the 19 and the "compact"
