>>30272125

>>
>>30272265
what you dont want to be a covert navy seal?
>>
>>30272226
Noted.
>>30272266
It's my first carrier, at this point I want something to carry plates and some magazines. Concealable would be nice too considering all the shit going on. I got money for a few plates so cost don't matter.
>>
>>30272281
I want to protect myself against the crazies.
>>
>>30272282
Look into slick plate carrier with swift clips. This allows you to be scalable with your armor. Want to head into town with your PC under a jacket? Just throw it own. Going innawoods? Add in some padding and clip in your chest rig.

The following brands make PCs that fit the bill such as First Spear, Crye, LBT, Mayflower, Eagle, Beez, PIG, etc.

If in the US buy armorwear ceramic lvl 4
If in Europe try to get grantik or how ever you spell it level 5 or higher Russian plates
>>
>>30272022
London Bridge, mang. Kind of pricy for plates, but they're some of the best you can get. As for plates, grow a pair and carry steel. Why wouldn't you want a layer of metal between you and something flying at you at a very high speed?
>>
>>30275570
Shit. I mean plate carriers.

Really like my ATS Aegis and i use Highcom lvl 4 plates.
>>
>>30277034
I don't know why it takes them so long to ship. I bought a III+ plate in their show room yesterday. They have shelves full of different plates.
>>
>>30277081
They say it's because they make them to specification. But i have a hard time believe it takes 16 weeks to cut metal, spray metal with liner, and send it.

Don't shoot up any night clubs and you will be fine.

Steel is shit and will always be shit compared to ceramic.

What are swift clips?

How concealable are LBT slick carriers?
>>
>>30272664
>ceramic plates being fragile is a meme

Maybe not in terms of dropping, but steel armour is going to far outperform lvl III and lvl IV ceramics in terms of durability.

Not that guy, but if you are comfortable with having 20lbs of steel on your chest along with all of your other kit for extended periods of time more power to you.
>>
>>30280444

I understand.

No one ever said steels were of an equal or lighter weight compared to ceramics, though.

Almost all ceramics are lighter than a steel plate of the same protection level, but it depends on if the user is seeking a lighter weight.

If someone wanted to, they could all out and buy several $1000+ boron ceramic E-SAPI plates if they were seeking weight reductions.
>>
>>30280519
>>30280444

Oh and my point was that steel is better than ceramic in many categories and far from "shit" even when it comes to weight.

LBT 6094 + Level III Mil-Spec MIL-A46100 Plates
>>
>>30280395
Tell me, please, when you will be shit 90 times in the chest without anything else being hit?
>>30280411
If steel is so great, how come every first world army switched to ceramic 20 years ago?
>>30280547
Steel is not better in any category other than multi-hit performance. Even then it is caliber dependent. M193? Sails right through steel at close range. .270? Not a chance, but a lvl 4 ceramic will stop both. There isnt even a lvl 4 steel plate because guess what?! It weighs a fuck ton.

Steel is a meme at this point. It isnt even for poorfags because ceramics are so inexpensive now.
>>
>>30280740
>how come every first world army switched to ceramic 20 years ago

>muh AP rounds

The military has a very large endowment allowing for the issue of $600+ E-SAPI plates. Even they put a premium on multi hit performance.

You think your entry level ceramics are rated for anything more than ONE hit?

You'll never face 60+ rounds of M855 to the chest, but it is very likely that you'll get shot more than once, something that steel can handle while your ceramics will shatter.

$150 for a complete set of steel provides this protection while a multi hit ceramic plate will run several hundred dollars for one 10x12.

If you think that you'll be shot with an AP round or a large cartridge, then you should get a ceramic plate, but most of the people that are going to assault you aren't going to use AP rounds or a large bore hunting rifle.
>>
>>30280943
All the same youtubers shooting steel plates have also shot bargain priced ceramics multiple times. Buck Yeager has a video of a $150 ceramic stopping a mag of 5.56.

As far as your shattering meme, here: http://www.lightfighter.net/topic/ceramic

anyone got or had the ATS Aegis V2?
Any thoughts?
>>
>>30280943
so you're saying that for low budget, I should go ar500... but if money isn't an issue, get the good ceramic shit?
>>
>>30278842

Looking forward to that info graph mate, fuck OP.
>>
>>30280943
>$150 for a complete set of steel provides this protection while a multi hit ceramic plate will run several hundred dollars for one 10x12.

Pretty sure it's only 2x the amount if you're not looking for some lightweight ceramic plates, those cost the big bucks.
>>
keep in mind that most companies offer soft inserts that can be used in place of a plate, so your carrier could serve for concealment too.
