Gunville.com is making traditional wood stocks, and gunpartscorp.com has the correct buttplates. I've got one on order now so I can cut it down for my wife, without destroying an original stock.
Also, try some Fiocchi subsonics. They're a hoot. Point of aim shifts about 4" down at 50 yards, but they make the already low recoil negligible.

Aftermarket for stocks sucks on those. There's that fugly Choate side folder, the abortion from Muzzlelite, a laminate thumbhole by Boyd's, and every now and then someone does a run of wood stocks.
The original recoil buffers were nylon that broke down fast, and the stock springs were too weak. That lead to a lot of cracked original stocks when the buffers crumbled and fell out. People snatched up whatever spares were in circulation.
If you haven't already, replace the recoil buffer with one from MidwayUSA or wherever else, do NOT use an "original buffer", and replace the recoil spring with a Wolff spring (16# for 9mm, 21# for .45).

I practiced long range shooting once upon a time with my R700 before I sold it and picked up the scout, because if bad shit ever happens that's the rifle I'd want to have.
I've had to level my 938 on at least 3 people, though I've never shot anyone.
We are on the same team, calm the fuck down.
If I ever got in a situation where I needed to throw a rifle on my back, it sure as fuck wouldn't be an unwieldy bolt action with a 26in barrel.

Can I justify it? No, not really. Do I do it anyway? Yup! It's a hobby. I have sufficient income that after car and house payments, retirement savings, kid's college fund, and rainy day savings, I still have a few hundred every month I can comfortablly use for shits and giggles. I'd like a new truck, but for now I'm gonna keep building ARs over the course of months. It's fun. If new laws get passed that make it impractical to continue, I'll do the new truck then. I don't need that, either, but I'd LIKE a new one.

Are you going to storm a house with a 26" barrel rifle? No special forces group does that. Most people are going to have a hard time getting 1/2 moa at 1000 yards with a short barreled rifle. I guess you really just don't know what you're talking about. There are hundreds of engagement scenarios that don't favor a big heavy bolt action, there are few that actually do. 99% of the time you would be best served by a battle rifle.

About the sig? It is a Sig556 classic, HK style Diopter sights that go out to 300 and it is dead accurate. Takes any AR mag, has adjustable gas system for suppressors and if it gets dirty you can crank up the gas to make it run no matter what, barely any recoil, side folding stock, 4 taticool railz that you can take off (which I did). It was worth every penny.

My father switches off opiate painkillers because they are mind altering. experiences withdrawals. experiences constant injury pain. resorts to alcohol to ease the pain. while im in another city he gets drunk and starts blasting a folding lawnchair in the backyard. PD and SWAT show up to arrest him, take everything out of the safe, including a deployed army ranger friend of mine's DelTon ar15 being stored in our safe. Mind you, we got these firearms before I was 18, and had not had a chance to put them in my name. I find out way too late. When we try to get proof of purchase from PRK arms (distributor), they lost the info during a server change in the past. the only distributor that didnt fuck us was BIG5. With no money and no legal knowledge, the cost of a lawyer isnt worth the $3k in guns, and i Just let it go and focus on preventing my father from getting felony + prison time. it gets lowered to 2yrs parole(?) with possibly dropping felony to "non-felony crime" (?) in the future.

They also make a decent investment. In the early 2000s, you could get a large N Frame S&W revolver for under $400. Now the same gun will likely bring $850 to $900. The Colt Python went for $1500 in 2006. Now decent examples sell for more than $2500.
And what if you participate in oneor more of the shooting sports? Small bore target shooting demands a completely different platform from high power target shooting, and both of those are inappropriate for three gun. And an IPSIC race gun is almost useless for concealed carry.

My next gun will likely be a mosin. I've always loved them for their accuracy and reliability. I used to work at a gun store and it amazed me that we'd get in "new" guns that were 30+ years old but were never fired.

well my 6 figs comes from working one good full time, and then I work nights from the house ~4hrs/day moonlighting for an out of state firm doing the same work. After the commute to and from work and working about 10hrs a day at job one I probably work about 16hrs a day mon-thurs, then 8 on friday and 4 on sunday.
I'd bet *most* of the people on here making 6figs if they actually are, are working similar kinds of hours even if they are only for one firm.
