I'm tired of all the fear posting and anti gun troll threads.
Lets have a good old fashioned .22 thread.
Post your .22's, and discuss them.
Pic is of my two JW rifles.
The JW-25 has one of the best triggers of any budget .22 ever. It breaks like a glass rod.
I guess I got lucky with it.
The bayonet lug is the exact same dimensions as one on a real K-98

These make excellent rabbit rifles.
The Nikko Stirling Air-King makes a surprisingly solid rifle scope, not bad considering the amount of abuse it has put up with over nearly 8 years.

If you are considering a good 4x32 scope, try one built specifically for an air-Rifle. they tend to be well build to withstand the lens shattering effect of spring piston air rifles.
This scope has never lost zero, even after falling off the back of a two wheeler and landing upside down.

i know you all hate these, but they're fun as well. although honestly i havent shot them since i got my ppq 22.

>>30269535
its fun man. but i got it cause i wanted something a threaded barrel, i like the sights and i already had a bunch of mags. if you're not going to add a can to it or are just going to throw an optic on it there might be better options out there.
>>
>>30269594
I've heard the accuracy on these is shit.
I refuse to believe that.
>>
>>30269557
thanks, only wish they made it in wood
>>
>>30269374
I too have a JW-25 and also love it, though I wish I could get more mags for it around. My only complaint is that it won't fit my VZ24 bayonet. So yeah essentially none.
>>
>>30269606
I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with an aftermarket stock for them.
It's sad that bolt guns don't get more love.
>>
>>30269623
They take standard Norinco JW mags. Should be easy to find. how is the trigger on yours?
>>
>>30269605
they cant compete with a fixed barrel. they're fun but they cant touch rugers, victories and the like
>>
>>30269634
They will have a lot of use as training tools. Having controls like the big boy guns help.
I love shooting rugers, but I have to say, I have never shot a .22 pistol that does not have a fixed barrel.
>>
First time hunting with a .22 with buddies.

Not even my ruger 10/22, but I sure as fuck enjoyed the meat.

> Having controls like the big boy guns help
I can only talk about the ppq's here because thats the platform i have experience with. anything else might be a different story, but...yes it does help to have the same controls but the 22's are still hammer fired and really doesnt translate to the other calibers. the trigger, slide, recoil its all fucky compared to the 9mm or 45 version. maybe slapping a 22 slide on the same p226 frame you use with 9mm makes a little more sense but with this model they're just too different to swap out.
>>
>>30269755
Suppressors are sexy.
I think it pretty much applies to all baby .22 pistols.
.22s are always easier to shoot in my experience.
>>
>>30269775
easier on the wallet for sure!
>>
>>30269748
That's how I learned. It's hard growing up loving guns in an anti gun house. My old man relented in the end, and figured guns were going to get me out of the house more often.

>>30269557
I've got it tucked under the bed and the wifey is asleep or else I would take some pics for ya, but I believe the gun has Weaver cuts in the top of the receiver and muzzle end of the barrel.

I think I've had them off once so I'm not 100% sure. They're some dead accurate sights though.
>>
>>30269792
You're lucky. It wasn't until I was well past out of the house that I even owned one.

I don't make mention of my hobby, let alone hunting, when with family. I can speak of history with family, though. They're all history nuts, so a C&R license may be in my future. They at least respect the historical value of things, regardless of origin.
>>
>>30269811
Mmmm, sexy. I wish all .22s came standard with better sights. trying to find peep sights here in NZ is a pain.

Where's the optics?
>>

Nope. Internally its all stock save for a poly buffer pin and a DIY auto bolt release.

The barrel is a hammer forged match unit from Ruger and it sits in a Cabela's stock.

It was my grandfathers along with the Anschutz so I told myself I wouldn't do anything to it in memory of the old man.

How quite can I get a 22 rifle if I get one that's built for all 22's (long short and long rifle)? I want an something that's just absolutely silent if I use the right ammo but versatile enough to be a nice plinker. Price is no issue and I am getting a silencer
>>
>>30270088
bolt action with subs and a can is hollywood silent. but you do hear the thud or ping of the target.
>>
>>30270088
A bolt gun, with a good suppressor, firing CCI quiet or Winchester Z, will be near silent. You will only hear the click of the firing pin, the whoosh of the rounds, and the relatively loud impact on target.

>Buy a Norinco JW-21 like pic related.
>Take it home, firing pin is striking center. Only 1 in every 5 rounds fire.
>Wait one month for it to return.
>Returns. Take it out. Bolt will not close properly, regardless of ammo brand. Take three strikes of hammer to knock bolt forward far enough to expose firing pin.
>Take it back.
>Been waiting another 8 weeks for it to return.
>Gun store rings gunsmith. Gunsmith doesn't know where it is.

I just want to pretend to be John Wayne.
Is that too much to ask.

This is the sexiest .22 rifle I've ever laid eyes upon. You're a lucky man!

So fucking pissed off right now. I've been looking for.22 ammo for months now, every store I go has empty shelves or will only let me buy 100 rounds at a time. "Hey when is your next shipment coming in?" - no idea "Can I get my name on a few boxes?" - sorry sir we don't allow that. FUCK, ALL I WANT IS TO PRACTICE WITH MY GUN, WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BUY FUCKING AMMO?

So I have a Marlin Model 60, I'm pretty new to /k/ so I was wondering what you guys think of my gun. The thing was Filthy when I got it, I've since cleaned it but the thing still has grime in hard to reach places. My question was could I submerge the Chamber in some kind of penetrating oil instead of ripping the whole thing apart, and what kind of oil should I use for that?

PSA please don't ND a 22 into the Earth. It will bounce around and scramble up the Earth's core.

It is a cool little iron sight only setup. Not planning on scoping that rifle.

I've shot pistols before, but nothing like a JW-25 Rifle. Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).

The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions--loud like a bomb--gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun a few times, I was anxious and irritable.
