Poorfags in the poorfag thread voiced their desires to update the poorfag weapons catalog and so here we are. The old picture is attached below.

My name is greens, I will be your compiler and.... Artist? I guess?

Anyway, the old picture is here. The model for what we are doing is as follows:

1. Suggest a gun that is $500 or less. Give a summary of edgy it's good, bad, fuckabble, whatever.
2. Find a minimum of three ubiquitous stores, like dick's or Cabela's, or Cabela's dicks, that stock it.
3. Find three types of cheap ammo that it works with, post price per round and/or price per 20 rounds.
4. Find the price of magazines. If it's a gun like the ak that has 20 billion different magazine manufactures, give three of the best magazine types that are cheap.
5. Write out any legal complications that may be present, such as 18 year olds being unable to purchase handguns in many states.
6. Find out the addons and other things the gun Comes with. This includes warranty, or things like the glock remodel program
7. If there are any serious defects to the gun, like how it might explode, write that. If it's a pre owned gun like many mosins write where to look for quality, or where to look for issues.
8. Find out where and how it's made and assembled if you're feeling extra fancy.
9. Find out if it's still being made or if you'll have to buy preowned.
10. Write out the different calibers that are available.
11. Post dank memes and Chinese cartoons for me to shoop on the bottom.

I will of course do a lot of this myself and also compile it all.

>I'm a scared pooper
One of my biggest real fears is a shooting or robbery happening while I'm on the pot.

>no CC yet, only a cheap 4-inch Chinese folder with blocky, unsharpened serrations halfway down
>mind constantly playing how a defensive situation would work out in any one public area
>all I ever seem to imagine is either a) me getting dropped with one or two shots after the attacker/s immediately see/s me, or b) getting shot point-blank after I get exactly one panicky surface wound on the guy
>multiply that by the thought of being literally caught with my pants are down
I need a fucking gun already.

would y'all consider a black pipe shotgun as a last resort home defense "gun"? I'm not super rich, and I can't buy post 1899 firearms so I don't really have a lot of choice in terms of what I can purchase, so I might just try making something. As long as it's within the ATF guidelines for barrel and overall length I should be good

I would disagree. Martial arts don't do shit against a guy with a gun, I've done martial arts for as long as I can remember. A crossbow might work on deer but indoors it'd be super clunky and basically just a single shot. I'll just focus on stocking 38s&w ammo I guess

>>30268937
Why is a smooth bolt a concern? Surely it shouldn't affect the gun that much. Sorry for being so ignorant.

yeah disarming tactics for a knife or other similar weapon. you can't disarm someone with a gun if they are actively aware of you and are aiming at you. Stop watching action movies dude, james bond stuff doesn't work in the real world

>exactly, "he", the martial artist.
except in my case the martial artist is a "she", unless you mean the person with a gun is also a black belt in which case guess what? it doesn't matter because only one of us has a gun and that person wins 99.99% of the time
>>
>>30269119
>yeah disarming tactics for a knife or other similar weapon
Yes, a similar weapon, like a gun.

>you can't disarm someone with a gun if they are actively aware of you and are aiming at you.
the secret service and various police forces have disproven you hundreds of times.

Are you seriously so retarded that you cannot master the intellectual power to grab the other guy's wrist and hold it up? That's seriously all you have to fucking do. It's not that hard to do. Even if you eat a bullet in the process, statistically you will survive if you manage to commandeer the weapon.

Additionally, if the criminal is not so motivated they may panic and run or drop the weapon.

>except in my case the martial artist is a "she" tits or it didn't happen

>>30269119
>it doesn't matter because only one of us has a gun and that person wins 99.99% of the time
not only is this untrue, but there's still that .01%. out of a country with 300000000 people, you've got pretty good chances.

to be clear I already have a revolver. I'm just worried about ammo cost, availability, and power. It's hard to find, which is a pain in the ass. It's pricey, especially if I order online. Finally 38s&w is fairly low power.

in comparison, 12ga is plentiful, relatively affordable, and very versatile. Same thing with other common rounds. The problem is finding a round that seems to strike a balance between availability, power, and me actually being able to own a weapon which fires it.

1. Mossberg 702 plinkster. ~100$ at wally world light as a feather, mag fed, semi-auto .22 Con is no real aftermarket, can get some marlin stocks to fit it with coaxing. is good choice in ban states where you can't have a pistol grip because reasons.
2. Walmart, Dick's, Gander mountain, etc
3. everything i've fed it including Federal and Golden bullets
4.15-20$ for a new 10 round mag
5. holds more than 5 bullets probably makes it illegal in NYC.
6.Comes with a 10 rnd mag that locks the bolt back with a red bit of plastic that also flags the chamber.
7. it doesn't really have an aftermarket
8. to lazy for that
9. still being made, can be obtained for sub 100$ if you're lucky

>I'm just worried about ammo cost, availability, and power
Black powder revolvers are easy as fuck to get ammo for and I guarantee a .44 caliber Navy is plenty more powerful than a .38SW. A one pound jug of powder, five pounds of lead, a t-shirt and a tin of caps will last you ages unless you're shooting it regularly. As for 12ga, good luck finding a legal one. Since it uses "packaged" ammo, unless it's legitimately from before 1899 then it's always a firearm unlike muzzle loader reproductions.

>>
>>30269400
since you insist that only weeaboos know martial arts, I'd like to expose you to a variety of styles used by the American military to train in hand to hand combat.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combatives#Modern_Army_Combatives
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defendu
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jujutsu

Jujitsu is particularly appealing because it is, "a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon or only a short weapon."

For this reason it is unsurprising why many army hand to hand combat tactics are based off of jujutsu.

I just made my first firearm purchase today. I bought a ruger 10/22 exactly like the picture, scope and all. Added a 25 rnd mag and a box of 50 ArmsCor .22lr. My only gripe is that it's not woodstock and it has this hideous camo all over it, but hey, for everything i got $303 isn't bad at all from what i can tell.

Now, did I fuck up somewhere, /k/?
>>
>>30278894
Hell no. You did great, so long as the 25-rounder says RUGER and not BUTLER CREEK on it. A good sling and a cleaning kit and you'll be set for life.
>>
>>30278698
I live near Denton in Texas, and the square's pawn shop/antique places had plenty of beat up models like the Martini-Henry, but some looked possibly salvageable and went for $80 or so.

They made nearly a million of them, so chances are that you might have at least one near you that is in at least working order.

The Smith Carbine, while much rarer, are almost cooler imo. Black powder breech-loading rifle that used reusable rubber cartridges. Pretty interesting, and apparently not terribly expensive either.
>>
>>30278919
yeah, the mag is ruger, haven't got to shoot it yet and I need to get around to buying some boresnakes. Not sure why i'd need a sling, I don't really hunt and it seems like one of those things i could easily make with duct tape in a SHTF.
>>
>>30269248
What gun is that?
>>
>>30279727
the most accurate way I've found of calling it is "smith and wesson double action 3rd model". S&W Model 2 looks like it has a different trigger, and the Model 3 has a different trigger guard and was only single action iirc. It's one of those weird guns that it's really finicky to narrow down what exactly it is.

I got it for 250 locally, pretty good price considering it's in very good condition for a 115+ year old gun.
>>
>>30279109
So you can put it across your chest and have both hands free and not worry about dropping it or having somebody grab it off you. It's for every day, not just SHTF.

and you're a terrible advocate of your own intelligence and come off as a retarded 8 year old on her period.

You've spent the entire fucking thread bitching about how it's impossible to disarm a man, but then pull a fucking 180 when it's convenient and claim that martial arts are pointless because they're too easy.

Jesus christ you claim to want to defend yourself but then reject the most common sense option available. Just grab the fucking wrist. Then take classes to learn more advanced concepts, like grabbing his wrist then ripping his tendon or whatever.

How about instead of letting everything invade your autistic safe space and hurt your feelings, try coming up with valid responses instead of "no ur dumb!" and "8 yr old period blood!"

I said you present your argument terribly, and instead of trying to think of a response to "too costly and time consuming to end up with 'just grab their wrist'" instead you resort to ad hominem tactics. In some states you do, but in TX as long as you have the money and are legally able you can walk in, purchase, and walk out within 15 minutes.

No Lol you're in a free state.

What's a good AR-15 kit build that I could pick up at a local shop for $500 or less. Looking for mid to long range. Decent stopping power, quick trigger, for target shooting.
>>
>>30285328
I'd buy it just for the hell of it.

nogunz poorfag skeered by Chump and the No Rifle Assheads here. Is the Hi-Point carbine a decent gun for an ultrapoor looking to get armed quick or are there better options?

had to get my fucking car worked on recently so my budget is ~500 bucks at the max end

I like lever actions and revolvers because I'm a wildwestaboo Texan retard but they're expensive as fuck. Exmil friend of mine said that if I like revolvers I should grab a .357 magnum with a 4" barrel as a starting wheelgun but those all seem to be priced in the high end or just above my poorfag budget: doable if I eat ramen for a month I guess. This shit has me spooked though. I want to have something in case I need to lose it on a fishing trip.

do some searching on your local backpage, armslist, and gun shops/pawn shops, iv'e seen marlin 336's, winchester 94's and a whole lot of leverguns for less than $500

I'll take a look. Any thoughts on the HPC? Wishing to keep my mind open to options, and I know everyone says that thing is ugly, but honestly I kind of like it. It looks like some ridiculous shit from a B-grade 80s sci fi movie and who doesn't want that
>>
>>30293522
the hi point carbine is like a fat chick, always puts out, although you can make her just thick by buying a few 20 round mags
(http://redballsports.net/products.html)
and it really preforms well for the price, not to mention lifetime warranty no questions asked from factory (you could literally throw the thing into mount doom and they would replace it)
for your needs, it would work.
>>
>>30293522
It's hi point. One of the best American manufacturers. The only reason people don't take them seriously is because the guns are ugly. That's literally it. They work fucking fantastic for the price tag. Don't expect anything fancy though. It's a cheap gun so it's made... well, cheap.

if you seriously need something for home defense like now there's nothing against the guns beside the ugliness.

and look, i found you a winchester 94 in texas for 400 bucks

Texas is huge man, Dallas is 300 miles away.

I'm in the Houston area.

But I'll look around
>>
>>30293616
oh, forgot about the fuckhueg size of texas
>>
>>30293616
I've driven from Houston to Dallas a couple times to visit family, I think it's only about a 4-5 hour drive. You could be there and back in a day.
>>
>>30293810
yeah and that adds 30 bucks to the price of the gun plus turns a 2 hour shopping trip into an all-day affair to take off work for

if I see something that's just absolutely godly impossible to pass up maybe.
>>
>>30270523
I love my ruger American rifle it is a blast to shoot and is really easy to disassemble and clean. Easily my favorite bolt action gun I have shot.

These guys have old, decent, shitty, new, semi-new guns for good prices. Fucking go ham

I'm a complete novice looking to get into the gun game

I'm looking for revolvers with .38 ammo. preferably something with a nice barrel (not that baby looking shit) for around $500 or less.

any help would be appreciated. thank you
>>
>>30297546
Look for used model 10's.
>>
>>30297546
I would STRONGLY advise against purchasing a revolver as your first firearm

Fuck you Im going to get model 649 as my first gun

Picked up the HP Carbine in 40 silly & willy and fucking love it. A bit difficult to take apart for cleaning but fuck it got it and a shitty 15 round mag for $340, shoots great, and is heavy enough to use as a blunt weapon.
