Yea, I like it a lot. Pelican cases are fucking huge and take up a bunch of space. Not really ideal for me because I'm usually trying fit a ton a shit into the back seat of a truck to take it all out to my ranch and space can become an issue. Maybe for you, it wouldn't be.

As long as it feeds correctly and consistently, any 5.56 rounds, and even .223 rem rounds, would be okay.

At the ranges you intend to engage someone in a home defense situation, it doesn't what 5.56 round you use, you're really going to fuck up someone's day.

>100 grain 5.56 round
>>
Can someone give me good in-depth info on this next question?

Im about to buy my first full sized AR15, since my only 2 modern rifles are an AR15-22 and a beretta storm. Im being offered a DPMS AR15 which looks to be the Oracle model, along with 3 mags and 500 rounds of 5.56. $525 for it all, never been shot.

This being considered:
1. Can this model shoot 5.56 and .223 or only .223?
2. How and what do I use to lubricate this AR before shooting? I heard ARs can be very finicky.
3. Are DPMS rifles easily configured for different internals and furniture? I want to build it up a bit to make it a tad nicer when i have more income.
4. Any issues I should look for before purchasing?

thanks a bunch famiglia

My bolt is very tight. So tight that when it heats up after a string, it swells and sometimes won't seat into battery, needs a tap from FA. All my other bolts are tight in the same barrel extension, except the blown out M16 parts kit bolt.

So how in the unholy hell is Shillary going to get an assault weapons ban passed when there is 12 years worth in stockpiled ARs, including god knows how many lowers, bought by people who KNOW they might be banned again? Not to mention all the other assault weapons bought up in that time? AND not to mention the massive panic buy that's going to inevitably hit during the final lead up to this election?

Is she going to try and push for registration? Non-transfer clauses? Would she go so far as to even suggest confiscation/destruction?

Is she just spouting hot air in order to get slightly more palatable gun control measures passed? Because I literally don't know how this is going to work if Pandora's box has been sitting wide open for 12 years.

DPMS is generally regarded as one of the shittier manufacturers.

In reality though their stuff is fine but just not "gucci" and you'll probably end up replacing everything on the gun because people here will tell you their one very particular brand of part "x" does something .00000001% of the time better than brand "y" while only costing $700 more.

Most people here will tell you that its cheaper to build from scratch, which it can be. But you really should have some experience, not because its difficult, but because you'll waste as much money with things you end up not liking as you would have just buying your first rifle whole with a warranty

As far as railed gas blocks, there is nothing functionally wrong with them except they are just extremely ugly.

and no, most ARs do not have adjustable gas blocks.

this is the response i was looking for, thanks bud. im not very experienced with ARs and i would rather buy one complete to learn with before i go into building one. like you said, i might just end up wasting money on parts that are overpriced and i would have no idea.

so as i said, the rifle was never fired, it has 500 rds and 3 mags coming with it for $525. is the pricing decent? i also heard there is some play in the stock/buffer tube that can be fixed with a little red insert but nigger rigging guns doesnt please me.

mags arent expensive, $10 to $15 bucks a piece for mags that will function properly. So 3 mags is $30 to $45 in mags.

Ammo prices can vary greatly depending on type of ammo. A half case of cheap 55 grain target ammo will normally run you between $100 and $130.

so you're getting the rifle for $400.

you might be able to swing a new rifle like an M&P or something on sale for between 4 and 500.

just because its cheap and you're getting a deal doesnt mean you should buy it though.

I bought an Aero Precision complete rifle and put about 80 rounds through it. Then, I switched uppers. Is it ok for me to use the old Bolt Carrier Group or should I get a brand new one? Also, there's a slight bit of play between the new upper and the lower. Is this normal?
