He's not aiming his weapon and clearly isn't trying to acquire targets. Anyone with training can maintain trigger discipline and manipulate a safety and fire his weapon with no delay when needed.
>>
>>30271778
He literally doesn't give a shit about killing random people at that point. He's also in a bloodlust state, so his safety concern is a bit compromised.

Training overrides it. Training is reflex. Reflex is not something you have to think about. When i was infantry in Afghanistan and Iraq, my weapon would go back to safety and finger off the trigger automatically no matter what was happening. When i was sprinting or not shooting , safety on and finger off. Reflex.

Why was he shaking his head?

Why did they start leaving after they got out of the cars?

Didn't they know that these were the bad guys?

Why didn't they just shoot them?
>>
>>30272435
Their ROE was only to engage when engaged. He was giving them a very narrow chance to give up.
>>
>>30272460

Is that normal? I thought that because they were in an international zone they could just kill those guys and not even report it. They killed that cop too, there was never an after action scene or a debrief either.
>>
>>30272513
They were making the attempt to be low profile. They didn't really give a shit about killing, but I think they'd have preferred to just be on their way.
>>
>>30272526

Is that because of the paperwork involved in extraditing an international prisoner from Mexico across a couple miles of open IZ (international zone) while engaging in multiple enemy contacts while following a very questionable ROE is going to be an amazing pain in the ass for someone to fill out later?
>>
>>30272577
Holy fuck you are overthinking this. It is a movie. In the movie, the ROE was don't engage unless engaged and Delta Weston was not going to kill those guys unless engaged.
>>
>>30272599

I just want to know if this is based on realistic scenarios because it was pretty out there.

Also, Delta Weston looked like a pussy shaking his head like that.

I think it was bait. They know the car is full of dudes looking to hit them, but they got the drop on them. The gangers aren't going to straight up suicide by trying to fight on those terms. So Weston starts to break off, essentially baiting them by offering what looks like an opportunity to attack. If Weston and crew wanted to keep them on lockdown, they would have kept guns on them until they were ready to move the VIP, not feign breaking off their cover to sucker the gangers into attacking and being obliterated.

Right. I thought American Sniper fleshed out the moral dilemma of that really well with the reluctant child soldiers being forced into combat and C.K.'s equal if not greater reluctance to have to kill them.

The Raid: Redemption was amazing.

The subtitles are way better though, the dub is like anime tier cringeworthy shit. I know that's not the point of the movie, but holy fuck the opening scene sucks in the US release.

That soundtrake from Mike Shinoda was on point though. The whole movie felt like Judge Dredd (the new Diehard style one) mixed with the Matrix, sans preachy bullshit. Cops go into building with bad intel, shitty officer lies and compromises the team, best officers fight to stay alive. Lots of really well put together hand to hand scenes and some great AR gunplay.

>except that scene where the rookie fires and you hear the bang about 30 seconds before the CGI round leaves the barrel in super tactical slo-mo. Just read a single book nigga..

they were taking a cartel prisoner to america from mexico on a busy highway and noticed cartel people following them with guns, they were ordered not to engage until threatened.
they were shot at by some people and found the guys in the car after, shaking his head to tell them to stand down because they don't want to kill them (technically illegal for CIA to kill random Mexicans outside of USA).

This is going to sound like some major /v/tard noguns summer bullshit, but I've always wondered why they don't give at least the pointman in SWAT teams some fuckoff huge armor for breaches since it's not like they have to haul all that shit for 50 miles in the desert, it's going from the van to the door.

I'm fairly certain a suit of plate made with modern materiel would be armored enough to stop most smaller rounds and still flexible enough for a SWAT team, though probably too heavy for any real long distance walks.

>>30282998
I'll give you two off the top of my head.

One, the first guy in isn't the most likely to eat a bullet. It's your #2 guy, once the dude getting breached on knows it's happening. Having a large, slow guy in the middle of your stack in preparation for that is going to increase the risk on the first guy and slow down everyone else.

Two, your pointman isn't going to be pointman in every breach/door stack that happens in that clearing operation, depending on the building layout.

Barnes didn't like the way Elias ran his squad and since Barnes was the Platoon Sergeant they were his men as well. Elias was undermining his authority. While he did kill civilians (or VC sympathizers) he was incredibly based in being the senior NCO. Only thing that he really did wrong was fragging his own man, probably the second most senior and combat experienced in the platoon.
