Does anyone hunt with a Mosin?

I'm thinking about doing Elk with a Mosin and I was wanting to know would it be worth it. I was either going to do that or a Savage Axis
>>
>>30261553
I hunt with my mosin. It's just fine for it. I got some handloaded magnum rounds that will probably kill a bear.

If you're super poor, a mosin is better than a savage axis because you can at least use the iron sights and don't have to get some glass.

And we really need to update that picture.

Anyways can anyone recommend a decent pistol for under 250?

Rate my 250€ purchase.
>>
>>30261575
Single or double stack? I found a CZ52 for $150 it shoots 7.62x25 which isn't too bad to buy. It was kinda beat up but worked fine and you can also upgrade them with a better firing pin and rollers.
>>
>>30261578
bretty gud
>>
I now have some 500 dollars what should my first gun be. Not the first I've owned or used, but the first that I buy with my own money.

I was looking at a ptr 32 because it has those cute cat ears and a good warranty stacked on top of the cheap 7.62 ammo, but roller delayed rifles can be testy.
>>
>>30261588
That sounds about perfect for me.

Would it be a decent choice for CC?
>>
>>30261575
Well high points aren't...terrible.

I mean, they shoot FMJ fairly well, despite terrible accuracy.
>>
>>30261575
>Update that picture

If you lot want to do so, I will make a thread in a couple of hours dedicated to the process.
>>
>>30261598
Hey buddy, I love CZ rifles. If you want to go a little over budget you can get yourself a cool old school style rifle.
>>
>>30261615
I'm down for it. Do it this evening, so night /k/ won't fuck it up.

I think we should make it bigger too. It has a lot of guns, but we should try even more diversity
>>
>>30261608
Except accuracy is the one thing they're good at you twat. The trigger is the issue
>>
>>30261575
Save about another 30$ and you can afford a tok. They often go for 279
>>
>>30261657
Shit. I've heard opposite sides of the same story, so it's hard to figure this out.

That said, people constantly talk down shit at random 24/7.
>>
>>30261676
This is true, but I have proofs: Hickock and nutnfancy. Yes yes I know, that's a bit like siding with a 13 year old, but the hi-point benefits from a fixed barrel that doesn't flop around and fuck up your shots; the trigger, however, as you can see in any video, is one blob of plastic.
>>
>>30261633
Alright. Keep this thread alive or wait several hours and I'll make it.
>>
>>30261709
Video evidence is honestly the only thing I feel like I can trust anymore. I mean, nobody would go online, make a video of them shooting a gun, and edit it to make the gun look like shit or look like the greatest thing around, r-right?
>>
>>30261760
Sounds like a fun project for tonight.
>>
Is .40 worth getting?

I see a lot of them are cheaper than the 9mm and .45 guns.
>>
>>30261955
.40SW will kill someone just fine.

They're getting pretty cheap so it's not a bad option.
>>
>>30261971
>just fine
You mean "just as well as 9mm or .45"

Pistol cartridges kinda suck at killing people.
>>
>>30261553
i want a k31 bad. but im worried about finding enough ammo for it.
>>
>>30262056
You could always reload. I think poor fags should focus more on reloading
>>
>>30262090
I was actually considering getting a kit to start reloading.

What do I need in a kit?
Can I reload shotgun rounds if need be?
How much should I spend on a kit?
>>
I can't read that shit
>>
>>30262155
A Lee turret press, plus a set of dies in your caliber of choice, will run you maybe $250.

You need a different kind of reloader to load shotgun hulls.

>>

How much does a VP 40 cost?
I'd love a HK VP series
But I'm most likely going to settle for a Sig P250C in .45
>>
>>30263387
DO NOT GET A 250C

Litterally garbage. There's a reason they discontinued it.
>>
>>30263387

you can find one for 650ish new, cheaper used (obviously)...but i.fucking.love.it...my dad has a vp9 too and its also solid af
>>
>>30263387
I got a VP9 for 520$ a few months ago.
Really good gun.

Me too anon. Going to try a gun show this weekend. Also gonna into reloading.
>>

Is that a p238?
It looks like something a riverboat gambler would carry and I mean that in the best way possible.

for the range
>>
>>30263633
yes it is...and i looove it
>>
>>30261601
It's heavy and kinda bulky and only a single stack. But the rounds are hard hitting. It's designed for one handed shooting though as well so the choice is yours.
>>
>tfw getting first gun that is mine
>will order parts kit and stripped lower from psa on the 4th

I'm excited
>>
Is putting a handgun in a layaway plan worth it?
>>
>>30263823
depends on how much interest you have to pay...but the heart wants what it wants
>>
>>30263634
It's reliable enough for carry. I tried the water thing MAC did, it worked.
>>
Alright I'm ready. Start the poorfag thread if you want.
>>
So I don't use my Mossman 500. Should i trade it for a handgun and make up difference with cash?

Would I even get anything worth having?
>>
>>30261553
Im picking up my first handgun saturday afternoon... I didnt buy hearing ptotection yet and the gun is a .22LR walther ppk/s repro... JUST
>>

I've had a few beers. If you're up I'm ready to start
>>
Hey everyone.

I plan to buy a Ruger AR-556 and I wanted to ask what you guys thought about it.

Also plan to pick up several mags, a rail guard, a grip for that guard, a discount hunting scope, and a shotgun sheath for a grand total of 840 for everything not ammo.

I didn't take pics but it just on the list is it a decent spread for a personal defense weapon and hunting semi-auto?

I chose this over a 22 because I was used to M16s from boot.
>>
>>30265884
Ive had a Ruger AR 556 for close to a year and love mine. My first every AR and after 2000+ rounds of cheapo steel case she still shoots and runs great.
>>
I'm thinking of buying a 9MM Hi-point for my first rifle.

I don't really go hunting often, all I have is my handgun, and it'd make buying ammo in bulk easier. I've never owned a rifle before, and I don't think I'd need anything too high powered. I live in a city and don't go hunting often.

thoughts?
>>
>>30261659
>>30261575
Or you could save 30 dollars and get a makarov for 279 at classic firearms and get a better pistol, with way cheaper, currently manufactured ammo.

I thought this was AMERICA, not bizarro /k/!

Also, who is this cock cream captivator at bottom mid?
>>
I have one, it runs really good. Kinda heavy, but it's the barrel but it's accurate as fuck. Runs good on steel cased and such.

Need a sling plug for the front mount but that's my only gripe

>>
>>30266299

Thanks anon. I'm getting it because it reminds me of my basic days, I'll look for a sling ring at the shop. Any other tips? How's the cleaning? Better or worse then other ARs?
>>
>>30267191
Its a Ruger so it will run pretty good regardless of how actually dirty it is. Doesn't mean don't clean it. Fun fact, the fit on all the parts are superb, I had to knock the take down pins out with a bullet to get em loose.

10/10 would recommend on a budget.

PSA has a sale, link related for 399$

>>30262155
Best bang for your buck is the Lee turret press. I have one, you'll out grow the Lee Precision Challenger kit. With the Turret press you can remove a piece and use it as a single stage press while you figure it out.

You need a separate reloading kit for shotshells, but its pretty easy to use as well.

> Be prepared to replace everything in whatever kit you buy. The powder measure scale is cheap, you'll need an accurate powder measure.

>>30263619
Only good thing I find at Gun shows reloading supplies.
> Gun Powder
> Primers

Buy it in bulk, don't buy brass or bullets at gun shows. More often than not its going to be expensive. I buy all my brass cases and bullets online, I buy all my gun powder and primers at gun shows.
>>
>>30266073
For your first rifle you can do better than a 9mm Hi-point.

A Ruger 10/22 would be better or the Ruger American .308 for your first Rifle.
