Yeah, the shells are very slow, in many PoV scenes you get to hear distant fire before the shell flies over. So they're subsonic. Maybe lighter than the real things. But definitely look and feel the same and they obviously aren't the same on the inside. AP shells that have bursting charges irl obviously don't fragment. The HE kind make pretty fireballs that look suspiciously much like gasoline explosions.
Strong enough to knock shurzen, roadwheels, tracks off but not enough to pierce armor.

The way the old guy spoke was difficult for me to understand. And I learned a lot. Not only about japanese but about the whole background like this Tsurinobuse tactic.
I am a little of an oddball I guess. I can speak daily japanese fairly well since I hitchiked there a few times. But reading and writing is just not that much fun to me.

That's an animation artifact, Anon. It's for viewer's convenience. Much like all near misses are depicted as hitting th eground near the tank and never zipping past without hitting anything (well, except for Momo, and that's for comedy value).
They also depict the tanks moving twice as fast as they should. Notice I didn't say "have them moving" or "have some tanks be twice as fast" - I mean that in scenes where the tanks are said to be moving at 30 Km/h, they're all drawn at 60 Km/h and the like - all of them.
The amo is stated to replicate the ballistic performance of real rounds.

On this, you hit the nail. It is a sport shown in live TV, after all. Most popular theory is that all sensado ammo has a tracer component and pyrotechnic charge just for looking good on TV.

Not sure if it's a must watch, but it was inspired by the Rwandan Genocide. It has some great atmosphere, that's for sure.
I originally watched it because I heard it was one of the darkest anime, but to be honest while it is dark it isn't that depressing since the main character has an unbreakable personality (this was very much intentional, even though it isn't realistic in the slightest).
If you want a depressing anime just watch Texhnolyze.

Go check out Naru Taru if you want something really fun and heartwarming. It involves these pokemon-like animals that children befriend and can do shit like fly and ride around on.
There's some sweet action scenes involving the JSDF and some light dogfighting, but it's nothing serious and even children can enjoy.

Yes, that's the point. It's a deliberate artistic choice, not a matter of them not knowing the real speeds. The director even calls upon doing that tkind of things in another of its series, Shirobako - a series about an anime studios making a series about girls und planes. Pic related.
the transport ship miho takes home is the ijn Kasuga. A protected cruiser that was in admiral togo's battle line at Tsushima and fired some of the last shots before the Russians surrendered. she was turned into a floating barrack in 1942 and it's how she's pictured in the movie. that's some neat shit.

I fucking loved all the other schools and how they stereotyped the fuck out of different nations, although Anzio is probably my favorite (tankettes are cute, cute!!!)

Figure I'd post it here since /ic/ isn't helping me. I'm sculpting a figure and I'm trying to figure out how tall this character is. From a cursory glance I'd place her around 1.4m~1.5m based on the gun size. I know there's a little bit of an overhead perspective and that her body is leaning forward and the gun is at an angle but I figure you guys would know more about ar15s.

I'd estimate her legs are like 20% longer than the rifle based on the perspective so estimating the forward-leaning torso length from that i'd say your scale so far is way too small

If I were you I'd try to imagine the limbs, torso and the gun in the reference as simple 3d shapes and turn them around in my head to try and get some estimates of their lengths compared to oneanother, accounting for perspective and foreshortening. Idk if that's tricky or not to do but like
