So I carry a 9mm HK P2000SK, and I love it, but with national paranoia about what's going on, should I upgrade to something bigger? I also have a Sig P229 in .40 that I love, but it's too big for me to logically conceal. Should I get something more middle-ground? Starting carrying 3 mags instead of 2? Maybe buy a car gun like an AK pistol?

I carry a spare 17 round pmag in my daypack. Unless I'm faced with 3+ well armed gunmen, I actually think I'd survive.
And if such a shitty situation unfolded, I doubt bigger/more guns would help much. Mirin these dubs though

Unless you're very confident or have a clear opportunity, I doubt you're going to pull a John Wick.
Just get the fuck down or to cover, and draw your weapon, if the opportunity presents itself, you go for it. If you can get the fuck away or not get into the mess, do that instead.
