It will link you to download all the individual gun mods it uses and combines them with new calibers. If you want to mod a gun, just have it equipped. There are a ton of gun mods that this links you to. Desert eagle, M9, Barret .50, Glock 20 to name a few.

Fallout 4 is basically Borderlands/Shoot em up. It's kind of a good game, but its tremendously terrible as a Fallout game, compared to others in the genre, which had a focus on roleplaying and story, whereas fallout 4 is a mindless sequence of "go kill things, take their stuff, build and expand bases, get better armor, and go kill more things".
I'll play Fallout 4 again once the GECK is released, there are some good quest and companion mods, and a skyrim-requiem style gameplay overhaul that fixes all the borderlands bullshit (like armor magically making you faster at running, enemies bullet sponging, leveled enemies, unrealistic damage ratios between weapons, etc).
What was the most powerful attack upon your settlement, who attacked, and which settlement?

The recoil compensation method only works for low velocity/low power rounds on automatic. The more force per cycle the more wear on the mechanism and eventually you just blow the baseplate out the bottom of the compensator. It's complicated and potentially failure prone for one specific feature: better automatic recoil compensation, not to mention we don't even use automatic in combat that often. Not worth it. Also, it's heavier. The Kriss Vector is 6lbs compared to the UMP-45 being 4.6lbs.

Guns in fallout is a weird subject.
in fallout 1 and 2 you can find everything from C96s to Desert eagles, grease guns to 10mm P90s, G11s to FALs.
Tactics continue this strange combination of 40/50s weapons and late 90's/early 00's weapons.
Then 3 came and went for a more 50's feel on the weapons with most of them being fictional or derivatives
new vegas has similar mix as the earlier games, some more exotic weapons (CAWS, P90 etc) excluded
4 is just a clusterfuck of "this looks COOL" and noguns

The faction concept appraisal is subjective, I respectfully disagree. Regarding their portrayal, that is false. I understand why you'd think that, dismissing them for what the are superficially because of how shit FO4 is, but there clearly are writers that know what they are doing.
BoS basically goes like this:

Lyons makes a philanthropic chapter, Outcasts are butthurt
Lyons dies, Sarah Lyons dies, Maxson Jr takes over and goes full Hitler/Mackelmoore
Outcasts come back in, Lyons' Pride leave
The reason they changed back is Maxson's cult of personality and the tradition of being led by a Maxson. There are many dissenters in BoS, however, that believe that the overall effect of the BoS is good and so they excuse the atrocities. Some can't excuse them, though, and even go so far as to directly refuse orders or betray the order as a whole.
Institute I don't feel like going into. They're asshole scientists playing God. That's it.

Railroad is not as well developed as other factions. Even the Institute has a lot of individual explicit and implicit narrative.
Character designs are objectively good. Whether you think a character is beautiful or not is another matter, but this isn't a sex sim. The character models are good, point blank. The arcs' main points are also good. The companions were done much, much better this time. If you disagree, you're flat out wrong. There is no subjectivity here, there is a meter. They develop and go through shit, effect events. They don't do it ENOUGH and certainly not enough to save FO4, but they do it.
The "Legendary" bullshit is utter faggotry, RNG cum guzzling Borderlands-ripoff bullshit. It's so gay Omar's gonna shoot it, but the modification system outside of "Legendaries" was done well. I just wish they hadn't focused so hard on "tiering," making such cum-clogged decisions as having pipe weapons be the best and the PPK 10mm.

As in rare? The desert eagle is one of the most common weapons in the game. When I wiped out a slaver camp outside NCR city, I got almost a dozen of the things. As for the others, yeah they are rare, because they are high end, highly sought-after guns. The more common guns are just generic 'hunting' or 'assault' rifles.

It's the new homefront revolution game. It's a total fucking waste of money. I was actually really excited for this game cause the last one was actually pretty fun. But there's so many glitches, so many game breaking bugs, nothing but "good help person A", "kill leader Z", "sabotage this, go fuck that up"
That mechanic in the game was it's saving grace but it's awkward as fuck trying to switch, like there were so many time where I was switching between a Sniper and a rocket launcher but got killed. Plus the AI go from potato-tier to MLG aimbot real quick

getting mods lets me enjoy the aimless wandering through a post apocalyptic wasteland / city more and have as little as possible to do with main story interractions.
like i said, fuck fallout 4, i'm going to use your sandbox engine and map and make it into a stalker game. you stalk, you kill, you get in sick firefights in dense urban areas. fuck the main story and lore, give me guns, AI mods, and things to kill.
there's very little that 4's vanilla gameplay didnt do better than 3/NV. you may need to take a step back and reconsider if you think otherwise for any reason other than "i put 2k hours into new vegas and have a deep emotional attachment to it"
