Pretty sure breathing in droplet spray of solvent/CLP/etc when you use your rife is more harmful than skin contact. Granted you go wash your hands after cleaning.

years of cleaning firearms with solvents and bare hands adds up.

changing platforms is difficult...

You don't actually have to baby an AR with cleaning, you can just keep lubing it and it'll just keep going, most of the filth gets inside of the bolt-carrier, in the expansion chamber, which is meant to take that shit. Like the AK, there's a good reason the AR is so popular.
Unless you're shooting something corrosive, but you wouldn't let that shit sit and soak into the bore of your AK overnight either.
If you want to make cleaning easier, a nickel boron plated bolt and bolt-carrier would definitively make cleaning a breeze.

a lint free cloth, bore brush (or just a stick with a small lint free cloth over the end) and a gallon of CLP.
