I think they are the same, used differently in different armies though.

Mechanized use armored vehicles, like APCs.
Motorized use un-armored vehicles, like trucks.

Close but not exactly,

Mechanized infantry is mounted in tracked vehicles and usually supports/accompanies tanks into battle in most militaries.

Motorized infantry is mounted in anything wheeled and can be organized from a light infantry unit to a recce type unit.

No, it really is just a matter of being in armored vehicles or not.

Mechanized = Armoured vehicles that may take some fire or even participate in the fighting

Motorized = Travel around in vehicles, but the vehicles are just logistics and will never be used in fighting

Light Infantry sure, but not all Motorized Infantry are light anymore. Soviet/Russian Motor Rifle Regiments and US Army Stryker Brigades all run APCs.

pic not related because it's mech

Mechanized = more armor
Motorized = faster
>>

Motor Rifle is mechanized, though.

No, i insist, after you.

a wheel transport can never be as well armored as a tracked transport. Strykers and BTR are only rated up to .50cal.

warriors and bradley are usually rated up to 20mm.

He's right. In the Swiss military (best exemple I know) mechanized infantry (panzergrenadier) are in tracked vehicles -CV90 tanks with 30mm canon- and are with the tanks unit in battle.
Infantry (all infantry is motorized) go in battle in a Mowag Pirhana (like stryker) an armored fighting vehicle with .50 caliber. The AFV is like a fighting member of the platoon and not only a vehicle.

depends on who you ask. Brits cal infantry in wheeled vehicles "mechanized" , US calls Infantry in wheeled "motorised". US calls infantry in Brads "Mechanized" Brits would call them "Armored Infantry"

mechanized:
vehicles take active part in battle

motorized:
vehicles are only transport
