I'm looking to get a very small sbr in 10mm for home defense and as a truck gun. Is this the absolute best? Seems lighter and less complicated than a 10mm AR. Price isn't an issue.
Or should I just go with an ar with a 10.5 inch barrel in 300blk?

A 10.5in 300 blackout is a better call.
I love 10mm. In an unhealthy way. But .300 BO in an AR is a much more supportable option.
It also won't hurt you right in the feels if it has to go to an evidence locker for blasting Ahmad, Jesse, or Tyrone if the need arises.

It seems more practical but 10mm works really well in a very small barrel (5.5 inches for the bap 10). I have smaller hallways and that would make a pretty big difference for me. But a 300blk AR could reach out and touch someone at 300m, which is perfect for a truck gun...

As a raging MP5 fan, you're gimping yourself because the idea is stuck in your head.with SBRs and subguns after hitting a certain length the only reason to go smaller is concealment.If you have the means to get yourself a K size MP5/10 and you really want it, go for it. But let's not act like it's in any way more practical than a short AR because you want to shave a few inches that don't matter if you aren't living in an heating duct.

5.56 and any other intermediate rifle caliber will always be better than 10mm.
You have to remember, when all the memeing is said and done, at the end of the day 10mm is still a pistol caliber. There's no need to do mental gymnastics going around with a 10mm carbine, this isn't the 90's anymore.
