Going out to buy 9mm target plinking ammo for my G19 Gen4. What's some good cheap ammo to get? Going to Walmart since it's the only local store that sells ammo.
I've heard Glocks need higher velocity rounds to function properly but that may be bullshit, dunno. First time Glock owner here.
Winchester 100 round value pack. If you can, buy online to save cash. I think I'm paying 15-18 cents a round. If not reloading then see if the nonbrass nonplated ammo is cheaper

Not at my pc but gunbot.net, there's a few others. I like free shipping, but you gotta figure total price too. Used ammo man website a couple times lately, heard some bad reviews in the past but I had no issues.
Shop around, find what you like. My glocks aren't picky, feed them the cheapest tula ammo, winchester Walmart, zqi, pmc, bunch of other shit. They don't care. The only time I recall issues were with old sloppy mags.
Cheapest shit I used is the bare lead tula in steel casing from ammoman, fed 8 boxes in my two glocks and 9mm 1911 without issue. Wouldn't use it for self defense if I had a better choice. I reload but 9mm is so cheap right now it's just for fun, or hot loads.
For self defense, Corbon +p rated 465ft lbs, buffalo bore has some in the 500 range bUT i hAvent tried it. Bought some mag tech +p+ , haven't tested it yet either. Got that from sportsmans guide

pretty much yes. avoid remanufactured ammo.
ps- sportsmans guide has magtec 9mm for less than .20cpr shipped (thats member price, the non member price might be a little more, but still a good deal)

Got 100 rounds of Federal 9mm and 120 rounds of American Eagle 5.56.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm taking my girlfriend's Asian Californian family to the range and bringing my Glock and AR. Most of them have never handled a firearm before so it should be good fun once the safety and rules are established.
