>>
>>30220786
Yes, he says that if wears deep in the pocket without the clip he will not lose as easily.
>>
>>30220811
It's somewhat true. If your knife is all the way at the bottom of your pocket you'll probably never actually use it because it's such a pain in the ass to dig out. Therefore it will never actually leave your pocket and never get lost.
>>
>>30220811
No shit that's what everyone said when he came out with his dumb as fuck reason for switching over to traditional folders. If you like traditional folders so be it, there's nothing wrong with that. But saying they're better because they don't have a clip when you can just easily take the clips off of pretty much every knife. that's just flat out retarded. How it took him this long to come to the realization that he can just take the damned clip off is beyond me

>>
>>30222281
The 810 contego is the closest to a 4 inch 940. I personally don't see a need to edc a 4 inch knife unless it's to be a beater instead of a fixed blade. But if I did I would get a recon 1 with the tri ad lock.

My 804 is a user that I've had since around the time they first started shipping. Love the thing. It's my only coated blade and the DLC is holding up pretty well. Ya, they're neat to have if you like ring locks, fit and finish is a little rough, grind is terrible when it comes new though, dull as hell and with mismatched bevel angles. It's 1055 though so it's pretty quick to put a new edge on it. It makes for an interesting pocket knife.

I've had mine for 4 years I think, I carry it pretty much ever day. The paint came off the clip years ago so I just nitre blued it and it. The blade takes an edge with ceramic pretty well, and keeps it alright too, not the best at either but pretty much ideal for an edc that gets actual use.

They are just polishing rods, they fill different purposes, mostly gunsmithing, the round one is what I use for knife sharpening, its all you need unless its really dull, then I use the corners on a square or triangle rod or a courser stone. I have a small round ceramic rod with a wood handle that I take camping, I just put it in a steel tube so it doesn't shatter.

Get something wide and flat (like a waterstone or Arkansas stone) to sharpen and get away from those narrow contact point sharpening devices. Steel is a bit elastic at thin corners and small contact area on a sharpening instrument can lead to an edge that's convexed in an ugly way, not in the good "this axe holds an edge chopping wood all day" way. It's called plastic deformation and it's why wider stones are better.

these 3 rarely leave my pockets. i've been debating getting a caly3 but then i saw they're making g10 940's so i might get one of those instead. it's harder to justify knife purchases these days, since i got my new job i rarely need to use mine.

Hey, I've got one of those. Retired it over a decade ago now though. Mine even has a hole in one of the serrations from cutting through a 220v line that was supposed to be dead.
