/k/, I would like to get a .22 pistol for my three younger sisters this Christmas. My mother and I already own guns and carry, so this would not be my family's first exposure to firearms. My sisters are interested in funs, but uninitiated so my question is this: What are some good .22 pistols that are easy to use for girls ages 13-20 and can serve as learning springboard into the wonderful world of firearms? My budget is approximately $500 but flexible. If I am under budget enough, I may consider getting a .22 revolver in addition to a more 'regular' .22 pistol.

It's also worth mentioning that one my sisters is left handed, if that helps narrow anything down.

Get a rifle, not a pistol. Way easier for a noob, especially a girl, to get into trouble with a pistol. In fact I don't think women should own firearms at all, but if you are bent on getting your sisters a gun I would highly encourage you to go the rifle route.

Get fucked faggot, you don't even know what you are talking about. Family members don't count as straw purchases (which are never prosecuted anyway unless as tack on charges for more serious crimes)

>>28285130
Well the gift will be for the family, but open to their use, under all the correct supervision, ofc.

Browning Buckmark (standard choice)
Ruger MkII/MkIII (standard choice)
S&W Mod41 (standard choice)
Beretta 87 Target (might be a bit hard to cock for her, but if she first cocks the handle & then works the slide, it should be fine)
Hammerli Xesse (useful even in later match shooting)
CZ Kadet (might be a bit hard to cock as well)
S&W 617 (expensive by nice)
Webley MkIV (check for cylinder wobble though & off timing)
Taurus Tracker (wouldn't normally recommend Taurus, but their .22LRs aint bad and are a fraction of the S&W)

I've seen both the Buckmark and Mk.II/Mk.III come up multiple times when I ask this question. Since these seem to be the frontrunners, what sort of differences are there between them?

>>28285130
He might be shitposting, but if I want to do this gift 'by the book' is there anything I should be aware of? I live in PA.
>>
>>28285278

You're fine bud. Like the anon said above, firearms are allowed as gifts to immediate family members.

source: bought dad a new handgun for christmas, live in PA

Rugers are probably a bit harder to disassemble & maintain, I guess.

Otherwise both are good to go for their price.

So they don't count as straw buy but are prosecuted?

Perfect example why /k/ is the the worst place for advice.

maybe get them something a bit harder to shoot themselves with? something harder to bring to school in their backpack when Stacy calls them a fat pig?
>>
>>28285124
I second that you should go for a rifle, much better to teach a new shooter with. I would even say go with a bolt action so they learn the value of accuracy and not just keep pulling the trigger on a semi-auto til they hit the target.

Ruger 22/45 mk3.

You'll be happy with it and you can even customize it with drop in parts if you wish.

>In the United States, a straw purchaser of a firearm at a federally licensed firearm dealership who lies about the identity of the ultimate possessor of the gun can be charged with making false statements on a federal Firearms Transaction Record. If a firearm is purchased as a gift, the transaction is not a straw purchase, and the person buying the gift is considered the end user. The buyer is also considered the end user if he intends to sell the firearm, as long as the initial purchase is not made at the direction of or as part of an agreement with the second, ultimate buyer. Straw purchases in lawful sales made outside of federally regulated dealerships are not subject to such rules and are legal unless the gun is used in a crime with the prior knowledge of the straw purchaser.[2]

Go away idiot.

Can you read? It is a matter of effort vs cost and law loophole. Buying for immediate family is allowed as long as at least one member of the family (the mother for example) is of all legal obligation to purchase. The ownership, but not use of said weapons would remain legally under the purchaser and would only be used against him as a tack on for any criminal action taken against the weapon owner if said weapon is used in a crime. By said minor.

Its the same way a cop can prosecute a jaywalker and yet all the nignogs in my town seem to never get in any trouble for that.

Assuming people are going to fly off the handle is a tactic used by gun-control groups to scare people into fearing guns

RUGER SR22. It's ambidextrous
>>
>>28285314
I've been doing some reading on this since I made the thread. It looks like the exemptions from doing transfer paperwork only work when it's a parent or grandparent gifting to a younger family member. Am I missing somewhere that makes this allowed for siblings or gifting to a parent/grandparent rather than from them?

Even if it's "technically wink-wink" legal, I'd really prefer to do things properly while avoiding annoying paperwork if I can.

This may be bait, but I'll respond in good faith.

Yes, there are guns made 'specially for kids, but they can't buy them, so there has to be an adult in the equation somewhere.
