I want an MP5 that doesn't look retarded that I can take across state lines without having to write a letter to the ATF (I live in portland, and one of the better ranges in the area is in Vancouver). Based off of my research, the best solution would be a 16.5in barrel with an OTB suppressor, so I can clean the suppressor while still having the extra length not be pointless. The only issue is, I can't seem to track down an OTB suppressor in anything bigger than 7.62. Any idea? I don't have a workshop, so making my own is pretty much out of the question.

Which range? And if the ATF dont know, the ATF dont know, know what I'm saying?

The English Pit. I currently shoot on BLM land, and that sucks for actual target shooting. The only rifle range nearby is the Tri-County gun club, and joining is a pain and a half. I would just really rather not trigger the dog-shooters. Also I like to do STALKER shit, and suppressors generally get a lot less attention than SBRs.
>>
>>30207082
That's because the English pit is for fudds. If you know where Jones Creek is, there's an actual pit up there I'd recommend for rifle. Its about 50-100 meters, so its that that good for long range, but hardly anyone god sup there, and if you are anyone, its usually a pretty cool guy who likes clay shooting or AR's.

And I have no idea about suppressors. If you want, we can meet up sometime and we can go shooting, and ill shoe you the site. Its not too far from the ESP.
>>
>>30207134
Sorry for bad English, I'm at work in the industrial area now lol I've been on since 6 last night...i hate security. Either way, I think you know what I was trying to say.
>>
>>30207134
Thanks. Recently a friend and I have been going out to Brown's Camp, but the best place to shoot there is this quarry that is periodically shut down, and even when it's open it's a fucking hazard. I got flagged by a dude in a Stormfront shirt with a nugget when I went there a few weeks ago ffs.
>>
>>30207141
Fuck m8, I worked security at Esco for a summer two years ago. I know where you're coming from.
>>
>>30207150
Jesus, come up to my spot, there's barely anyone there. I've literally seen 1 guy, and I've gone there hundreds of times. And I was just leaving when he came up. I shot his AR a couple times and he shot my shotgun, and we went about our day lol

Do you have steam? We can message on their if you want to meet up and go shooting sometime. Otherwise its hard to explain where its at. I might as well anyways in the next post.
>>
>>30207155
Yea, I've been doing this for 2 years now, and this company is complete horse shit. I dont get any allotted breaks, and they recently found out I go to church and just now started working me on weekends. I'm oh the verge of starting a law suite, but I'm leaving anyways.
>>30207161
Ok. If you know where Jones creek is, from the parking lot there, just keep going up the trail untill you get to a split in the road. Head left up the hill, and you'll see a trail heading up towards a hilltop. There'll be 3 downed logs on the path, and at the top will be an old minding area. Its great for target practice.
>>
>>30207161
steam handle is ghost55. I really appreciate this.
>>
>>30207168
Securitards? Jesus I have some scheduling nightmares and other stories to tell from my time there.
>>
>>30207169
Yea, m8. I've always wanted to hangout with someone from /k/, all my other friends except 2 are uncomfortable around guns. Sucks, mang.

Mines Diabeetus Jim, or just look up omega__2
>>
>>30207177
No, Rovers. But Securitas around here are hilarious. There's a guy who rides a bike that goes by me everyday. He's a pretty cool guy, though.
>>
>>30207169
Actually, to make it easier, I made it Omega2. Its the one with the red dot, sapposed to be a sun but whatever, as the picture.
>>
>>30207184
Added.

When I worked at Securitas I was supposed to be full time, but scheduling was done by this senile old motherfucker that would just start assigning hours going down a list in alphabetical order. People with last names starting with "a" were pulling mad OT. My last name begins with a "w". You know what? I think I'm gonna start a security thread.
>>
>>30207208
Haha that's stupid as shit.

They fortunately do scheduling by what they were hired for and what ever is open that week. Like this week I'm doing a rite aid down in Milwaukee and a couple of events, and the site I'm at right now...but I hate all of them so it sucks lol
>>
>>30207208
Also, I'm having my wife add you. I'll message you tomorrow when I wake up
>>
>>30207218
Rad. It all sucked, but nothing was worse than the time I almost got shanked by a crackhead while guarding some shit in the park blocks at 3am on a sunday night.
>>
>>30207208
Also, you didn't add me. I'll have to look you up when I get home.
>>
>>30207232
The crack heads around here are the worst. I had a guy that was freaking the fuck out down the street last week. Everytime someone got near him he would run at them and try to eat them. I'm pretty sure he was on bath salts too. All in all it was a scary night.
>>
>>30207238
I got to actually watch a guy smoke crack. Fuck. I'm just going to make a thread.
>>
>>30207262
Do it. Also, what's your pic on steam so I can know which one to add
>>
>>30207264
Thread posted and request accepted.
>>
You'd still have to write the ATF if you have a suppressor on it
>>
>>30208179
No.
>>
>>30206955
An OTB is not what you want for a single stamp gun. The suppressor is only going to reflex over the barrel for a couple inches so your 16" barrel with suppressor will still end up being ~22" all together.

You will want to take your 16" barrel, 9mm sealed direct thread suppressor (YHM subgun suppressors are a cheap option) and determine how much of the barrel can be cut so when the suppressor is threaded on then welded your OAL is ≥16" from the bolt face.

Since you don't have the tools, any competent smith will be able to cut, crown, thread the barrel, and then either pin and weld or equidistant tack the suppressor in place so it meets ATF's requirements for being permanently attached and thus considered part of the barrel for measurement.

Since you are going to be shooting a centerfire cartridge; as long as you are shooting jacketed bullets leading in the can should be of no concern, and carbon is really a non-issue. If you absolutely must clean it to make yourself feel better you can clean the carbon by simply immersing the can in in equal parts Mineral Spirits, Acetone, Kerosene and ATF (homemade Ed's Red) over night. It won't attack the metals like ammonia based cleaners such as Hoppes #9, and you simply let it drain completely afterwards.

Explain
>>
>>30208465
There is no 5320.20 required to transport a suppressor across state lines.

a. A written request and prior authorization from ATF to transport interstate or in foreign commerce any destructive device, machinegun, short-barreled rifle, or short-barreled shotgun is required under the provisions of Section 922 (a)(4), Title 18, U.S.C., and Section 478.28, Title 27, CFR, a letter of request, in duplicate, containing all information required on this form, may be submitted in lieu of the form.

Notice AOWs are not listed either.
>>
>>30208441
This is super helpful. Thanks.
>>
>>30208441
>equidistant tack
>ATF's requirements
Nope.

. Permanent methods of
attachment include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100°F) silver
soldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over.

Says nothing about tack welding.
>>
>>30209501
I'll probably just get it pinned and welded then.
>>
>>30208441
Wait. The smg suppressors are 8.5in. why not just have it permanently attached to an 8.9in barrel?
>>
If the hearing protection act goes through, there will be no reason not to just permanently attach suppressors to get a 16in barrel instead of getting a cuckstamp. God I hope it passes.
>>
Extra question: any 9mm cans that disassemble from the front, so I could take the thing apart with the inner tube still attached to the gun?
>>
>>30206955
That is one painful looking dildo
>>
>>30212659
It's an oss otb suppressor.
