There's a couple maybe an hour's drive from you towards london. You can always just google "Gun Range" and the map should show you all the ones closest to you. I live in Waterdown so normally I drive out to Silverdale, but that'd be a long ass drive for you to do.

Why on Earth do we get screwed so hard for optics and practically every important accessory? For example, it costs 320 CAD for a Sparc II red dot that retails for else than 200 USD in the US. I've noticed that certain manufacturers such as Vortex are horrible for mark-ups and others such as Bushnell are somewhat equal. Even taking the exchange rate into account we are getting fucked hard.

11.5" in general is pretty odd IRG does the odd colt govt profile order every once and a while. Arms east also used to carry them you can try them Questar and CTCS to see if they can special order.

This is some good ass shit dude. If the Conservatives get re-elected would that mean we could be seeing some previously Prohib rifles becoming NR? Shit like PTR-91's and Veprs?
>>
>>30204421
Its quite possible. There are a few caveats that the simple classification system may not be retroactive but I hope it is.
>>
>>30204421
>>30204434
Apparently the plan is as follows:
Prohib=Full auto
Restricted=Handguns, rifles and shotguns under 26" OAL
NR=Everything else
This would mean that AKs and the like would become NR, and FALs would be back on the market. As well, it could also mean that converted FA guns could become R or NR depending on exactly how "full auto" remains defined in the Criminal Code.

MAXIMUM DOUBT!!! The news would be all over the CPC about letting evil baby killing rifles that shoot cop killer bullets. They would likely stand no chance in the next elections.
>>
>>30204550
E-111 is a petition. The government isn't formally obliged to change a thing regarding it.
C-230 works within the current law, and would be mildly helpful, but wouldn't change a ton.
The policy in question belongs to the Conservative Party. It isn't law. It isn't a bill. It's a campaign promise for if they come into power.
>>30204593
Feel free to check out the CPC website and the article sourced in the OP. And it's not like anyone really knows or cares how the law works in Canada. We can already get AKs.
>>
>>30204565
I got a Russian one as a Graduation present a year ago, It shoots really well for a 65 year old rifle. I can't comment on the quality of the Chinese ones but if they're as good as the Russian ones then it would just depend on the look I guess. Russian ones have a regular Bayonet and the Chinese ones have a Spike bayonet, Although I think the Yugo ones look the coolest.

I'm not saying I doubt they said that, they also said they'd repeal the firearms act too. I just think they're lying. Those AKs are also few and far between and expensive, unless you mean that massive unguarded border with a country that sells AKs. Then yeah I guess we could already get AKs.
>>
>>30204603
The Finnish ones are a ridiculous amount of money though, What about Ak's for the poor man?
>>
>>30204694

I've been told to Stay away from Vz58's from a bunch of fudds my Dad's friends with. I figure their full of shit but I'm gonna start saving up for possibility of NR AR-15's and then wait until C-230 to figure out Plan B.

If the Conservatives followed through with this policy I'd probably ask my Polish friend to help me import a Tantal or something.
>>
>>30204780
It's about the same price as the US for a good AK, though they do have a bunch of cheaper models. If we were getting them from Russia and China I wouldn't expect them to be much cheaper.
>>30204800
Why would they say that? I have a VZ58 and it's great. They had some issues with the .223 models manufactured between 2012 and 2013 but other than that they're really solid and pretty accurate.

That's basically what a fudd is

A fudd isn't just someone who enjoys good old fashion bolt guns and doesn't personally feel like he needs or wants anything modern, a fudd is a person who believes that all people should only be allowed to have bolt guns.
They're our worst enemies because they're basically anti-gun but happen to have one bolt gun so all the other anti-gunners treat them like they're some kind of firearms experts.
>>
>>30204973
My Step mom seems to be pretty chill about the gun stuff, She liked shooting it on our last range day, She's more worried about her kids getting their mitts on it one day that I'm at work or something.

And I'm slowly starting to work on my dad, I've turned myself from anti gun to pro gun, and gotten him to do the same. I should probably contextualize this with I'm almost a year graduated from highschool. He had to take the safety course with me or I'm sure I'd be the only gun guy in my immediate family.

Just make sure it's locked up safe in a cabinet. If your dad also has a license, you could make a show of giving him a key to the cabinet as well. Range trips always help, and try to go with the "don't prejudge guns" line, especially if they are left wing. You can work up with the whole racism but with guns angle.

Barring some odd proprietary configuration that I haven't heard of before, it'll work perfectly fine. Just understand that they'll probably have different shades of colouration, and different quality of finish. If you aren't happy with any given part you can also just replace it too.

The RCMP isn't omnipresent, they won't look through your Facebook comments. They are primarily concerned about your criminal, domestic, and mental history.

Answer all of the questions truthfully. Even if you have to answer "yes" to one of the personal history questions, that doesn't mean you will be denied.

All answers should be super straight "No, sir, anon is a very kind person" and "Yes, absolutely."

Yes its in the mail, no you don't have to do anything with the provincial CFO.
Some provinces are assholes about buying Restricted firearms without a range membership so you may need to send them a copy of your range membership but I don't know which provinces do this.
>>
>>30210843
I agree with you . Dont try to buy anything unless you have the PAL in your mitts .
As for restricted , C42 eliminated the need to be a member at a range. I bought my TT33 , it took a week for the transfer to come in. Then after i became a member at a range.
If you do it this way you will be sent a seconf RPAL , with your non-standard ATT conditions attached

Honestly I kind of regret not getting a .223 version of the VZ so I could use a magwell adapter and beowulf/LAR-15 mags with it.
Hell, now that the Ukrainian commercial ammo has dried up non-corrosive 7.62x39 isn't even as cost effective as it was.
>>
>>30210935
You can still find crates of 1440 rounds of x39 corrosive for $300-350 if you look enough. I'd expect the Ukrainian ammo to slowly start coming back once the whole "Russian invasion" thing is over.
>>
>>30210970
Honestly I'm not a big fan of corrosive, it's not that I'm to lazy to clean, it's just that everything gets to fucking dirty with the hot water method compared to good ol' ballistol (and when the fuck are gunstores gonna start regularly stocking ballistol in this damn country? Ever since I tried it out I never want to go back to any other product)
>>
>>30211001
You don't need to use hot water, it's just recommended to loosen the salts. I stick with CLP onsite, nitro solvent to actually clean, and then a coating of CLP again after the patches come out clean. Even using moderate quality Outers brand stuff I've had good results and no corrosion on my VZ58.
>I also recall it being possible to bulk order ballistol online somewhere

Is a 28 inch 12 gauge shotgun with a modified choke accurate enough for bear hunting/defense using slugs? I already know that the modified choke can fire slugs because I looked it up and tried it out. The accuracy was bad but I'm not sure if it was because of the choke or because of my cityboipussified arms.
I got some 2 3/4 inch slugs and 3 inch slugs, both of which the shotgun accepts (rated for 2 3/4 and 3 in), but the long barrel and modified choke was most likely designed for the intention of long range waterfowl huntin.

That's actually a plus for us.

Some other provinces require a specific permit to own body armor. From what I hear, it's about as difficult as obtaining an ATC (ie. next to impossible unless you have a legitimate use for it in your job).

I also hear that a few provinces don't allow it at all.

So, a PAL requirement? Thank you very much, at least I have a PAL.

Yea it's only 75 hp inline 4. Also 210 bhp with iltis is crazy, its like 95 slugs fully loaded, it's nothing. Anyway, this isn't really a fast car, it's better to get more torque into it, cos it's got a idle gear that you put the engine on idle, but it has so much torque it'l just climb over everything. It also has power nothing.

It's a NATO car for offroading, could probably do it better than a wrangler, but it's so bare bones you may as well add a bit more weight and thus features. Also the doors are removable and mount to the hood.

Had a question: I just got my first pistol, a ruger 22/45 Lite, used. I took it out to shoot for the first time today, and had an issue.

I ran two different types of ammo, CCI Quiets, and a regular ol' box of federal. Now, I know that Quiets don't have the power to fully cycle the action, effectively making the gun into a bolt action when I used them, having to cycle each round manually. The problem is, sometimes it took more effort than usual to rack the slide back.

When I ran out of Quiet (I was mainly just trying to use up the last of the stuff), I moved on to the federal blue box stuff, which ran mostly fine. I did encounter the same issue, though, maybe 3 or 4 times, after firing a round, the gun seemed to cycle properly, but wouldn't chamber a round, when this happened, the slide again became hard to rack back, and I also couldn't engage the safety, but everything seemed to fine after racking the slide once. I'm not sure if it's the ammo, or the gun. I have yet to buy a cleaning kit for the thing, and ran it as is when I took from the store.
>>
>>30215120
Probably just a bit gummed up from the store if I had to guess. Try it out again after cleaning and see if the issue persists.
>>
>>30215163
I don't actually have any cleaning material since I've heard .22s are generally low maintenance. Are there any recommended cleaning kits/items?

>>30215179
22's are not low maintenance fuck half the 22lr ammo is dirty as fuck.

Probably better to get a starter kit one of the ones with brass rods vs steel.

The very basic you can get by with is...
Cleaner/Solvent and
22lr boresnake or
cleaning rod, 22lr brass brush, small jag and patches.

The benefit to cleaning rods is they have swappable parts for multiple calibers.
For boresnakes they are by bore diameter so a 22cal will do 22s/l/lr/m 223/556 etc and they tend to be simpler.

Pic related is Hoppes deluxe cleaning kit its a good starting kit.
>>
>>30215179
Just get the cheapest all-in-one cleaning kit you can find at Walmart/Cambodian Tire/etc.

Ideally, get one with a rod, patch/brush, cleaning solvent, etc.

I wouldn't bother with higher end stuff until you know what you're doing. Yes, there is a considerable difference in price and quality, but they'll both get your shit clean. The cheaper stuff might take longer, but by god, it'll get you there.
>>
>>30215238
>>30215248
The local gun shop has plenty of options. I'll just get a basic kit with a bore snake and solvent there. CLP seems to be one of the more popular choices for cleaning solvent, right? I think I saw that there.

I guess just learn how to take the gun apart, scrub out the insides with a brush, clean out the bore, and lightly oil the bore and internals?
>>
>>30215326
CLP stands for "cleaning lubricating protecting" and is a catch-all for any oil that does all of the above. CLPs are produced from a bunch of different companies and typically aren't as good as specific products, such as a nitro solvent for cleaning then a lubricating oil afterwards, but are much easier to use. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Look up videos on youtube about how to disassemble your gun for extra help.
>>
>>30215356
I watched a video from ruger, where it shows the gun fully disassembled, the dude ran the bore rod through a few times with a patch to clean it out, and then again with a patch with a light coat of CLP, then scrubbed out the guts with a toothbrush before lightly coating it with CLP. Seems fairly straightforward.
>>
>>30215382
Yeah, that's pretty much it. The important part is to get into all the nooks and crannies and actually disassembling the gun. Some of them can be pretty tricky to do.
>>
>>30215403
Yeah, it looks like a pain in the ass from all I've seen, but I guess it's one of those things that gets easier the more you do it.
>>
>>30215423

>>
>>30216187
Depends if you can do the work properly yourself as I doubt you'll find a gunsmith to do it for you.
As for the front sight i think its just pinned which means you could knock it off and move it back.
>>
>>30215326

>>
One more issue I just remembered with my 22/45 actually, sometimes the mags pop out when I hit the slide release, and the mags don't drop free from the gun, they'll pop out a bit but I have to pull them out. I googled a bit and it sounds like the spring seat could be the issue of the mags and the hard to pull bolt... Does that sound possible?

I usually go to alflahertys, but FOC seems to have a much better selection. I usually order online, but i want to support firearm businesses.

Cutting of the barrel would make it a prohib.
You cannot also use a 16" barrel with muzzle brake to make 18.5". The entire length must be rifled to count as the measured part of the barrel.

it's a ranger blanket, or a woobie if you're American.

Gee, thanks, I didn't know.

It's not that bad, it really isn't.
Just don't compare the two and it doesn't seem nearly as bad.

If you can't get a dehumidifier right away for some reason, you can always throw some moisture absorbing material in there.

Sand, sawdust, salt, rice, just dump that shit in there until you get a more permanent solution.

I would recommend the rice, as it will be easier to clean up. Also, you can find them in porous bags in Chinese/Indian supermarkets, so you wouldn't even have to open it. I wouldn't recommend eating the rice after you're done, unless you enjoy cosmoline-scented rice.

came here to post this

sorry, Quebecbros. a loss of your rights means a loss for us all. hopefully with time this wasteful and useless registry will show itself to be the failure everyone with a brain already knows it to be and will be dropped by a future gov't. all we can do is educate our neighbors and friends and lobby the politicians

inadvisable to do it, for obvious reasons of breaking the law + you're unlikely to find a smith that will break the law for however much you'd be willing to pay him
>and remember, you still break the law for simply having it in your possession after, even if you didn't do the work

besides, don't the restricted 11.8" and the non-restricted 18.5" have different gas port size? cutting the barrel will make you a criminal, while still not being enough to make the short version function right; and the likelihood of you fucking up the gas port/bore while trying to drill that yourself is even greater than in the cutting the barrel

>tl;dr: don't do it -- you are going to break the law for sure and most likely break your rifle at the same time.

instead, stay legal and buy the restricted version if you want shortie VZ that badly.
or if your primary want is just for compact package that's NR, buy T97 or Tavor instead

20% of guns registered at most with three to four times cost overruns. Mark my words.

Remove front sight and muzzle brake. Long barrel looks good without sight or brake.
>>
>>30221729
couple questions for that setup:
can you still use iron sights with that mount?
how easy/comfortable is it to shoot the metal folder with that relatively high optic?
>>
>>30222771
I have to chin weld but it' still fine.
There are two side mount heights, low and high.
I need to get new screws that aren't so long so I can use the mount without the spacer so I have the low mount right now. With the low mount you cannot see the sights. High you can.
>>
>>30222921
Can you remove the dust cover and bolt with the mount still on or do I have to use the QD lever? I have a high mount and assumed the low mount wouldn't require a chin weld. I guess it still sits pretty damn high. I'm using a Blackhawk rifle cheek pad to get a proper cheek weld.
>>
>>30222955
Unfortunately you must remove the mount to clean. What's nice is it all keeps zero. I can't speak for other mounts but mine is extremely high tolerance.
>>
Is there any plan bring a non-restricted X95 Tavor to Canada? The barrel would need to be at least 19" to meet the overall NR length of 26"
>>
>>30217303
Yeah most gunsmith can cut and crown a barrel and move the front sight so long as you don't push it so far back you need to move the gas tube.

>>30222630
The 11.8" has a different gas system due to the extremely short barrel length but the 16"/18.5" have the same.

At least the AB CFO reps work fairly quick. Hell, I paid for my old Skorp on a Friday, got impatient, call 2 hrs later, the guy was pleasant and simply rammed the transfer clearance through as we chatted, I went back to the store and took it home.

the rivet fell out officer i swear thats why i put it under the floorboards so noone could accidentally fire more than 5 rounds
>>
>>30221729
It totally is, come on. That being said, slap some wood furntire, proper bipod on there and a drum mag, and you'd have a sweet RPK style build.

I still enjoy shooting it, though. Bring it next time, and we can try pic related on it if you like. It'd probably offer a proper cheek weld for ya.

>you'll find that their viewpoints are more close to right-wing than left.

EXCEPT for the fact that they are immigrants, and that ultimately they are not part of this country so they don't give much of a shit about it.
This ofc ignores the 50% of immigrants who are women, and also the large fraction who are below the age of 30
