I had a history teacher in high school that was awesome. We talked about guns alot, he invited me and my dad to come shoot with him and his brother. His brother was somehow related to swat and had some cool connections.

A lot of academics are anti-gun simply because they really haven't been out of school since they were 5, and they've spent that entire time in an insulated environment, away from the real world, where people are constantly being told that anything's possible, dreams come true, and they can personally make the entire world a better place. Those are great ideas, but they never have a reality check on their really crazy ideas, and they never have to listen to or respect opposing viewpoints. They're told that they need to be independent critical thinkers, and oh, by the way, this is what independent critical thinkers think. An echo chamber is always a bad thing. Even /k/, in that way, is bad. Fun to come here and circle jerk, but it IS an echo chamber.
