I want to keep a flashlight in my car that could double as a baton if needed. Which Maglite is the best for this? Are there better alternatives out there?
>>30183123
The maglite is virtually your only cost effective option. They are made of aluminum iirc, so you're going only get one or two defensive uses out of it.
>>30183123
IDK about that but this works well
One that uses four or more details cells.

I'd go with the 4C model. Still get an 18" reach and they now come in LED ones that throw a lot more light.
>I call mine "Skullbanger"

>i'm going to drive like a douchebag and road rage and beat them and their cars with a maglite
it's a dangerous lifestyle choice, you might want to use a firearm instead to ensure your safety

>details
Fucking auto complete\correct. New phone, forgot to turn it off. Obviously I meant d cells.

Why not just get a baton and a vastly superior LED light? Is this for stealth carry because you live in a faggotized state?
>>30183213
There are two reasons why he could want a light.
>Holds up better in court that he did not have the intent to carry a weapon to cause harm to others.
>Batons may be authorized for only Peace/Police officers in his jurisdiction.

This guy doesn't get it

They sell LED drop ins for Maglites
Stack enough D cells in it and you might be able to run a 1K lumen CREE led for 30 minutes.

I've got a 6D that has held up for thirty years. Only part that's worn out is the old endcap, and that broke my heart; Because my father had scratched 'NBG' into it. Also, if you swing it too often, it'll flatten the nub-ends of the batteries.

This made me laugh

I'm not really expecting to actually need it. I'm going to be working in a national park over the summer, where I sometimes will drive long distances on deserted roads at night with no cell phone coverage. I figured it would be good to have something like this in the car in case I ever broke down, wrecked, etc.

It's a lot fucking harder to get a premeditation/"looking for trouble" charge with a flashlight than a dedicated weapon like a baton.

Yep. Looks like it's shorter now than the one I got (which is weird, but not a deal breaker.) Cheaper, almost as hefty as the D cell equivalent, and the light itself is better.

Oh, but I think he does get it anon.

get a 6 D-cell model, then buy a Malkoff LED conversion, high MaH rechargable batteries, and a good charger.
enjoy your bright as fuck aluminum stick of sweet sweet reason.
also if you get a black one, you cna strip it down to just the metal, and heat the anodizing up to change the coloring all the way from black to orange, to silver. or just get an older one and cerakote it.
Be sure to not transform your maglite into this thing
2002 called, they want their bulb filaments back.
CR123's and LEDs are a thing. Surefire G/P, Streamlight Pro Tac and a 2 foot steel pipe
