I know Hi Point is usually a shit brand, but I've been looking into the 995TS and it doesn't seem too bad. If anything I could just use it to plink around. What do you guys think?

Seriously ask yourself why you would want it. It's a low capacity pistol caliber carbine that has very few accessories and is a little overpriced even at $300. Either get a pistol or a rifle or a proper. Your a moron to buy it

Buy one used, the warranty will still apply. I bought the older style years ago for $210 with three mags, a mag pouch, and a worthless laser.
That said, it is a pretty handy little rifle for small game within 100yds. I haven't shot it in 8 or so years and have it in storage.
For the money, a 9mm AR or even something in 5.56 makes more sense.
Get a better carbine. My Marlin 1894 has:

>far better reliability
>better looks
>.44 magnum stoopin powah compared to 9mm - very fucking important if you want to use it in the woods
I had one for a while, it was alright. I traded it towards a Keltec Sub-2K when I got sick of the 10 round mags and general ugliness.

People act like everyone complies with Cuckistan laws. Pretty much everyone with guns in LA has an illegal firearm with an obliterated serial. Cali voters can jump off a fucking bridge, all gun laws are constitutionally invalid.

1. It's a 150$ gun. Not 250+

Worked well enough for me!
Had one and got rid of it. Was uncomfy to shoot with the shitty hard molded plastic (old version), certain screws would come loose while shooting, felt cheap, WAS cheap--I mean we're talking really crappy polymer here, awful trigger, it generally worked pretty well but that was it.
You can practically get an AR for the same price these days.
