What's your favorite brand of 45 acp?
I'm preferential to Federal

Federal HST for defense ammo
whatever brass cased ball ammo is cheapest for practice ammo

Handloads.

Speer

I carry Hornandy Critical Duty in mine, when I'm just plinking I use whatever is cheap and not shitty. I have a bunch of PPU right now.
>>30178498
This, your own bullets with cases from random manufacturers. Personally I dont use Perfecta, they are probably fine based on what google says. But since im new I will stick with he random Hernandy, federal, PPU, ruger cases I have.

and blazer, god bless blazer they make up most of my reloads.
>>30178596
I'm partial to buying a few hundred new starline cases at a time. For under $200 I get enough cases to have 300 cases for each of the 3 pistol calibers I shoot, and reload them 10+ cycles.
>bullets
It's hornady all the way for jacketed, haven't found a gun yet that dosent like them. Only cast bullets I used are made/sold locally by an old SASS shooter.

Blazer is garbage
>>30178426
Tulammo for my edc. Has never failed me.
>>30178426
Buffalo Bore 230 grn +p flat nose.
Hollow points are a shitty 100+ year old meme that need to die.
>>30179292
Those motherfuckers are just as expensive as federal hollow points
Winchester white box, Tula, perfecta, federal aluminum cased. Whatever is decently priced and in stock at Walmart.
>>30178519
i got a box of Hornady critical duty, 3/20 bullets sunk in the casings, at which point i made some ballistics gel and shot the rest of them, another 4 failed to expand.
>2/10 would not buy again.
Federal HST in my USP 45 compact that I EDC, and Sellier & Bellot or Geco for range/field use.

fiocchi is gtg

Did you mic the cases?
If you still have some contact hornady, they're great about sending people cases of ammo when they discover a bad mishap.
PMC or American Eagle.
Don't really have a favorite HD/SD Ammo. Haven't even decided on +p or standard for SD ammo either as I have only 5 inch barrels in my 45s so I dont' know the advantages of either.
I have a box of HST and a box of Rangers. I think the rangers are really old because they look like black talons instead of the newer looking ones.

Old ammo is pretty good if it's been stored dry, I regularly shoot .45's & .357's from the 70's without issue.

So? It's not about cost.
I like to blow loads
