>Australia is like some wierd alternate reality
just that bit pretty much sums it up
>>30174791
>where the pump shotgun was never invented
Which is ironic, considering it's the one country where I think carrying a pump shotgun on you at all times should be a fucking requirement.
I'll be honest, i prefer levers over pumps.
I still wouldn't go to Australia to get one of the bottom 3 though.
>>30174791
They don't even look half bad.
>>30174791
I never knew how much I loved lever action shotguns until I saw that picture
>>30174791
I still don't understand why the U.S. puts pump action on a pedestal.
I've asked a few times on /k/ and gotten really stupid answers like "DUR HUR CUZ IT STILL WORKS" or people talking about flexibility. Like all the recommendations of pumps for home defense are because every asshole also needs to hunt game of all sizes and breach doors and go through a zombie apocalypse picking up umpteen different kinds of 12ga like it's a video game.
>>30174791
OP here
there are 3 brands in this picture
Pardus LAX12
Adler A110
And the classic IAC 1887
There are more brands in the country though including
Uzkon (which is actually the best if you ask me)
Alpharms (no reviews)
Diamond (no reviews, not yet landed in Australia)
Imo lever shotties are much sexier than pumps. If you tacticool the fuck out both the lever still wins.
>>30174909
Because it's fun to rack. What planet are you from?
>>30175067
Why would you say Uzkon is the best? The Pardus only arrived a few days ago and no Uzkon's are in the country yet.
Yeah the Uzkon looks like it's a proper lever but in the two promo videos available the lever mechanism looks fat as fuck and pretty clunky. The whole gun is pretty beefy looking, which I like, except on the lever.
I have a Pardus on order because I took the opportunity, might trade in for another if in time there's any major difference revealed.
>>30174909
becuase it does work? It works with any loads, unlike semi that could be picky. You can work the action with less motion compared to bolt or lever action and is not as limited in the positions it can be comfortable worked. You don't have to worry about cylinder gap compared to revolver. You aren't limited in ammunition compared to break actions.
>>30175295
The main thing Im worried about with the pardus is the lever rotates on a pin which is just hanging onto the plastic trigger guard
Seems like it wont be strong enough
Ive felt a Pardus, blows my first shipment adler out of the water from factory
>lever action
>pump action
>semi-automatic
lol plebs
>>30175538
man I wish these things were more common
>>30174791
>lever actions only became popular with the Adler
but why, we've had the 1887's for ages..
I love the Adler but honestly the 1887's could be made to work smooth
>>30175604
I don't think there was a huge supply of IACs/Chiappas out there, they were also getting rather expensive.
Compared to the Adler which was cheap, had a reasonable marketing video and looked like it would be a bit more user-friendly.
Also the interest in the Adler probably doubled once the Greens tried to have it banned.
I do like the 1887s too though.
>>30174909
>Butthurt Aussie Detected
Haha what the fuck? What a shitpost.
those actually look pretty cool
>>30175538
excuse me, is that a bolt action shotgun.
>>30174791
Pump actions are essentially outlawed to get a license to own one in Australia unless your main source of income is from an animal pest control business where you cull animals and you have to be able to prove this. Also, as soon as you leave this job you no longer have the ability to own a pump action and have to hand it in by law.
Also, they want to ban lever actions next because they are calling it "Brand new rapidfire technology".
See pic
>>30175692
wut.
>>30175692
Too bad for the cherry picked cunts in that survey.
I've got one in my safe, and I'm keeping it.
>>30175604
The 1887 will eat brass cased ammo and only brass cased ammo, you'll have extraction issues up the wazoo with steel or plastic cased ammo.
>>30174791
Levers are so awesome
>>30175706
Australian Civil War when!
There's like 1.9 million registered gun owners in Australia, enough to make a difference. Too bad so many I've talked to are massive fudds who believe the government propaganda about how we need our natural rights infringed on for our own good and self defence is immoral. Still, I have such little faith in our 2 party system of fucking socialists agreeing with eachother that maybe an american style non-commie revolution is what we need to Make Australia Great Again.
>>30176368
that looked like a kingswood in my thumbnails. a thousand apologies.
>>30175692
>lever action is "brand new technology"
>Tech is from 19th century
>even predates pump action IIRC
Wow, Aussie gun grabbers are dumber than american ones.
>>30176429
The difference being that we don't have any major parties or political influence to fight against them because even the conservative government is anti-gun. They are the ones who introduced the gun laws that took everything away. We also don't have anything like NRA here, people will try tell you we have the SSAA but they literally do nothing at all and basically the only thing they ever do care about is hunters and sports shooters, that's it. No one pushes for self defense.
See my pic, was the new laws by the conservative government in 1996 which no major political parties want to change.
>>30175692
>1%
I wonder who could be behind this...
>>30174909
You very well could have to switch from buck to slugs if you leave on a sizable property. You might also need to use it for snakes. Pumps are easier to switch out ammo on.
>>30174909
>>30176557
What're you implying?
>>30175538
I got to fingerfuck one of those when I took the safety course to get my hunting license.
>>30175295
Uzkons came into the country a few weeks ago m80. Initial reports say it feels tough as fuck. Which is good i guess
>>30174791
Australia restricts pump shotguns more than lever shotguns, thus this shit.
>>30174909
>an extra mechanism to convert torque to linear force is totally better and simpler!!!11!111oneoneone
>>30175706
It's isidewith.com
You do a survey about issues, and it tells you what candidate/party represents you the best. They don't cherry pick results, they just let you see what other people answered for each question.
>>30175692
No, that is for cat D, semi auto centerfires
Pump shotguns are cat C, you just have to be a fucking farmer to have it
Also there have been shitloads of surveys about the adler, every one of them was overwhelmingly in our support, that particular survey you posted was on some random obscure website which none of us even knew about when it was being voted on.
>>30176780
You should not have to be a farmer to own a pump action though, that is ridiculous.
Random obscure website? With 40,000+ votes?
It's from isidewith. A very popular political quiz website to try see which political candidates and parties you agree with. The most popular in fact.
I'd actually like to have a lever action 12ga, but I've literally never seen one where I live nor at any gunshow.
>>30176874
Yes, you're right. You shouldnt need to be a farmer to own a pump action shotgun. But the person i replied to said you needed to be a feral pest controller to own a pump action shotgun, which is wrong. That is only needed for semi auto centerfires
And a survey is hardly valid when it tells ordinary people who dont know anything about firearms about this spoopy new technoligy rapid fire shotgun. Then asks if they think it should be banned.
Im just glad we're getting all these other brands of lever shotguns in which effectively stops the anti's being able to use the Adler as a an evil poster child
>>30175692
>new rapidfire tech
lever action has been around for almost 2 centuries
>>30175595
Thats ol sears and roebuck. i got one in pretty good condition
>>30174791
Holy shit I just realized liberals are basically Amish but only for guns. Technology shall not exceed the 19th century, but only for guns.
>>30176944
It's not a scientific survey, but the vast majority of people who answered that question voted to ban it. It wasn't particularly biased in its phrasing either, as far as I can tell.
