/k/omrades For my first AR I'm trying to replicate the M4's used by Delta in Black Hawk Down. But i can't seem to find any carbine length uppers with the Fixed carrying handle. Does anyone know a company that makes these?

just get the barrel and upper separate

That's the kinda AR where your gonna have to build it yourself or get one of these cool things https://myservicerifle.com/
from troy

I did the exact same thing when I built my first AR.
Question...
> M4's used by Delta in Black Hawk Down
The movie or the actual incident.
The movie got it pretty close, but not perfect.
Movie Version:
A2 upper reciever with 14.5" m4 profile bbl
aimpoint comp m on carry handle mount and short 30mm ring
Surefire classic weaponlight with tape switch.
Actual carbine:
A1 upper
Aimpoint 5000
Scuba light directly attatched to handguard
Redi-Mags or mag clamps were also a thing

I just want to replicate the movie version. I love 90s Operator look.

The carbines used in that era were largely Colt RO727's if I remember right. You'd pretty much have to build it yourself because not many of those uppers are still together but it wouldn't be a hard build.
16" Govt. profile barrel or 14.5" with a pinned and welded A2 flashider. Standard A2 upper and FSB, Fiberlite collapsible stock and A2 grip on a full fence lower.
Or you could go Delux-Retard and build a clone of something like Kyle Lamb had a billion years ago and be a 90's operator.

I forgot about the Colt Model 723 as well, A1 upper and pretty much the same creature as the 727. Colt kinda threw whatever they had banging around into those carbines as long as they produced a coherent gun.
Fuckin' A senpai. I built an upper with a 6 hole handguard, Colt Socom barrel with an HK416 flashhider lol and an A2 carry handle upper. I as for the lower all i got was an Aero precision lower, A2 grip, and a colt aluminum buttstock (the rare one).
I love how during the 70's and 80's, improvised things like scuba lights clamped/taped were things.
Something about the resourcefulness makes it fucking badass, same goes with the early aimpoints on carry handles

727s and XM4s were also in use by Delta at the time and they had A2 uppers.
